Unfortunately, we live in a patriarchal society where women are expected to have one goal in life: get married and have children. Reality is, women are becoming increasingly independent and are challenging society’s decaying norms and traditions. Here are more reasons to start becoming more independent:

1. Your Father Won’t Live Forever

As pessimistic as this might sound, but it’s the harsh truth. The person you might be depending on most, your father, cannot support you both financially and emotionally forever.Fathers-Day

2. Self-Fulfillment

There’s an inexplicable euphoric feeling that comes with succeeding. Whether it’s the A you got on a midterm, the presentation you aced at work, or rolling your first joint, the feeling of success is highly addictive!success

3. Divorce

Again, one of life’s harsh truths is divorce. The love of your life/high school might turn out to be a cheating cunt or it might simply not work out between you two for whatever reasons. In this case, you wouldn’t want to end up single and unemployed, would you?267

4. Financial Support

Even if your husband/parents don’t mind supporting you financially, fact is, you’re a grown woman. You shouldn’t still be getting a monthly allowance (Or you can do both…more shopping!)443.jpg

5. Experience

Whichever career you choose, you will gain expertise in your field, and develop a better understanding of people. DSC_8165
