Most celebrities have let the human race down with some questionable behaviour. All is not lost though. Some remarkable characters have stepped up to the plate, and shown the way to humble horizons and down to earth living.
1- Will Smith
A man known across different generations, Will Smith blessed our screens on hilarious shows such as “Fresh Prince” and more serious movies where he flexed his serious acting bones such as in “Focus” or “Concussion”. With the latter two being quite recent, it goes to show that not only is he uber talented, but also quite wealthy. Will has time and time again given us a glimpse into his simple ideal life by being a good father and an even better husband. He and his wife remain one of the few couples that have still lasted unshaken. Will also humbles himself by not allowing the fame to get to his head, explaining in an interview that he considers himself to not be talented but average, but his work ethic is what saves him. Hats off to this gentleman.
2- Tom Hanks
The respect we have for this man as a human and an actor is immense. One of the most well-known characters in Hollywood, starred in multiple films, each film better than the next. The actor has won two Oscars consecutively; I’m talking back to back for movies such as “Forrest Gump”. Now despite all this fame, if you were to ask any of his fans, they would go on to tell you how Tom is the “nicest man in the world”. He takes time out of his days to reply to fan mail that he receives, and as you can imagine that may be a lot of mail to read through, yet he does it.
3- Keanu Reeves
The man that made the “Matrix” franchise into what it is today, a man certainly with a lot of talent and wealth. Keanu has made it clear that money is not what’s important to him, repeatedly showering cast and crew members with lavish gifts to show his appreciation. It’s important to know that Keanu has gone through some losses from those closest to him, which resulted in his life philosophy to value health over everything. Reeves has donated millions of dollars to charity and performed random acts of kindness.
4- Jim Carrey
Jim came from nothing, working as janitor at factory to make ends meet whilst performing some stand up on the side to pursue his greater dream. Eventually, with hard work and determination, Jim managed to get his big break on the silver screen but he didn’t let that change who he was. Jim still to this day gives back to society whether through talks or charities.
5- Emma Watson
A dominant force in the feminist movement, a woman who firmly believes in equality and stands up for the cause on her own two feet. World renowned actress who is a shining beacon to women everywhere, promoting that they too have a voice. Emma is an intellectual, graduated from Brown University (Class of 2014). She too gives back to society through charities and talks.
6- Robin Williams
I saved the best for last. A man who gave the world something to smile about, a man who made you laugh whether you were 5 or 50 years old. A successful career could’ve easily changed Robin’s personality, but empathy was strong within him. He could feel the pain around him. This motivated him to create more laughter, which in our eyes makes him pretty down to earth and grounded.
