Because you deserve to be happy every single day, here are some tips to help you make the best out of your life and see the beauty in life once more:

1) Repeat after me:” I’m a diamond in my own freaking unique way!”

You might be blonde, brunette, tall, short, thin, or chubby. We’re all different and that’s okay. In fact, that’s awesome! Why would you want to be a copy, if you’re actually an original? Always learn to accept who you are, always love and appreciate yourself. Always keep your head high and walk in confidence. Look inside your soul and find your own beauty, instead of wasting your time imitating others.

2) Kiss criticism goodbye!

“I’m sick and tired of being bullied!” “Why are they always gossiping about me!” “I should stop trying; I’ll never succeed. They said so!” Stop this attitude! Stop being extra sensitive when others criticize you! Don’t let their words affect you, making you believe that you are not good enough. Whenever you start to doubt your capabilities, remember that people throw rocks at things that shine; they are only trying to put you down because you’re above them. A piece of advice: LET THEM BURN! On the other hand, other people might criticize your actions simply because they don’t share the same opinion with you. This doesn’t mean that you’re on the wrong path; it simply means that you’re different; and it’s good to be different!

3) Look at your reflection in the mirror, and see the best version of you

Did you look at the mirror today? What did you see? A liar, a cheater, a criminal?

We all make mistakes and we always regret them, but is it truly the end of the world? Will these mistakes hunt us forever? Of course not! Whether you lied to your parents and told them you’re going to study with a friend and went partying; cheated on your girlfriend/boyfriend, husband/wife; or lost your best friend’s trust; you can still have a fresh start. Yes, it’s not easy, and I’m not saying that the ones you hurt are always going to forgive you, but at least, you’d be able to forgive yourself, you’ll look at yourself with respect and pride. It’s never too late! Never give up on the person you’ve always wanted to be. We all mess up and we all deserve a second chance. So, when you wake up tomorrow, let the mirror reflect a believer, a fighter, an optimist!

4) Shoot, miss, then score!

Are you bored, depressed or feeling useless? This is probably because you’re purposeless in life; you spend your day, but you don’t actually make the best of it! Whether you’re 12, 20, 40 or 80, you’re never too young nor too old to have a purpose in life. As a matter of fact, this is what keeps you alive. Your purpose might be getting higher grades, winning a championship, getting a promotion, becoming a billionaire or living a dream you’ve always had. No matter how big or small your aim is, don’t settle until you get it done! Every day is a new day to help you get closer to the big trophy; don’t waste it!

5) Always keep your getaway handy

“I always stress about being stressed before there’s even stress to stress about” SAY WHAT! Many people fall in the trap of stress and anxiety which gives them a really tough time. You have a final exam, a job interview, an important match? No problem. Whenever stress starts to take over, reach for your ipod to listen to your favorite music, read a book and get lost inside the story, or indulge your favorite chocolate bar.

6) Create your own La la land

Forget about the kids, forget about work, close your science books and relax! Just spend 60 minutes taking care of your own self. Pamper yourself by going to the spa, hairdresser, or yoga class. Or simply watch a movie, read a book, or have a nice dinner with your loved ones. Psychologists confirm that staying away from responsibilities for at least 60 minutes a day can help you to have a happier, healthier and less stressful life.

7) Be the reason behind a smile

There’s nothing more rewarding than putting a smile on some else’s face. Who said that you’re worthless because you lost your job? Who said that you’re powerless because of your health status? NO ONE! Try helping an old lady crossing the street today, or go visit the orphans and be the brother/sister they never had the chance to have for only one day; then, enjoy the feeling of being the reason behind someone else’s happiness. It’s the reward of “selflessness”.

Last but not least, always remember that it’s YOU vs. YOU; you’re the one who’s in control of your life, so don’t surrender to negativity and never give up on your happiness!
