Canon’s innovation in imaging solutions recognised with twelve 2014 BLI awards

Dubai, UAE, 23 February, 2014: Canon, world-leader in imaging solutions, today announces that it has received seven Winter 2014 ‘Pick of the Year’ awards, three ‘Environmental Outstanding Achievement’ and two ‘Energy Efficiency’ awards from testing and research organisation, Buyers Laboratory (BLI).

Presented twice annually, the ‘Pick’ awards recognise the best performers in a comprehensive suite of tests that cover a wide range of the most important features and performance factors for buyers.

Canon’s black-and-white imageRUNNER ADVANCE devices gained recognition for their quick output speeds, scan features and intuitive, easy-to-use control panel, which is customisable and allows users to have quicker access to the most commonly used functions. Canon’s devices also demonstrated outstanding productivity, with the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 4235i and the imageRUNNER ADVANCE 8295 PRO being the most productive devices in their class in BLI’s tests.

In addition, BLI found that Canon’s A4 line of i-SENSYS and imageRUNNER ADVANCE printers and MFPs consistently exhibited an energy consumption of between 35 and 62 per cent lower than average. “Canon has proven again and again that its A4-size document imaging products are the environmental choice for energy-conscious consumers,” said Pete Emory, BLI’s manager of laboratory testing. For A3 and A4 devices tested to date, Canon has received a total of 26 “Outstanding Achievement” awards for energy efficiency.

BLI also recognised Canon’s Solutions portfolio with two awards. Canon’s uniFLOW V5.2 won BLI’s 2014 ‘Outstanding Output Management Solution’ award. The integrated print and scan management solution was recognised as a modular platform customers can easily tailor to their specific business needs around print, scan, document security and cost control. “The breadth of output management needs uniFLOW V5.2 can fulfill makes it unique among the document imaging solutions BLI has tested to date,” said BLI Senior Editor Jamie Bsales. In addition, Canon’s free eMaintenance, which helps MPS providers to more easily manage their customers’ print fleets, has been awarded BLI’s ‘Outstanding MPS Solution Pick’ award.

“We’re proud to have been recognised once again in BLI’s Pick of the Year awards and the distinction of this including elements from our laser, MFD, solutions and MPS offerings makes this all the more rewarding,” comments Hendrik Verbrugghe, Marketing Director, Canon Middle East. “Understanding well the rigorous testing that BLI carries out, we couldn’t be more pleased to have the quality and reliability of our portfolio commended in this way”.
