Gouna

The second edition of El Gouna Film Festival (GFF) is finally here, and for starters, we honestly can’t be happier that we officially have something that big and awesome in Egypt. Seeing all those beautiful successful stars in one place celebrating art and artists in Egypt is such a good feeling!

Apart from all of that, like every year, we can’t skip the opening ceremony night without being the judgmental fashion police that we usually are; so we had to come up with a best and worst celebrities choices list for you, and here it is:

THE BEST:

1# Nelly Karim

As always, this one had to be on the top of our list, the beautiful Nelly Karim can never go wrong with her fashion choices. Just like in the Venice Film Festival (VFF) she stunned in the GFF too, in her beautiful black and raspberry gown from Kojak!

Gouna

2# Mai Omar

Hello, did anyone say they’re having a Disney Princesses dress up party? Really though, the beautiful Mai Omar looked like a replica of Cinderella in her exceptional sparkly Michael Cinco gown! Don’t you think?

Gouna

3# Dorra

This one always amazes us with her great looks, the beautiful Tunisian seemed to be attending the same Disney princesses dress up party like Mai Omar. Seriously though, Dorra really stunned in her dreamy Georges Hobeika dress!

Gouna

4# Nour

How absolutely beautiful did the Lebanese actress look in her stunning sparkly white Georges Hobeika dress? As always, Nour couldn’t miss on being one of the prettiest in any occasion!

Gouna

5# Injy El Mokaddem

Our favorite ‘Dija’ definitely had to make it to ‘the best’ list, like would you please look at that pretty dreamy Kojak gown? The color is just stunning and it really suits her with the hairdo, jewelry and all!

Gouna

6# Rayya Abi Rached

The Arab world’s sweetheart made sure she would stun again in the GFF, just like she did in the VFF, because what else can she do? Her absolutely perfect Robert Abi Nader gown literally spoke about itself!

Gouna

7# Sabba Mubarrak

We just can’t get enough of this Jordanian beauty and her recent fabulous looks that she’s been showering our news feed with! The beautiful talented Sabba Mubarrak strikes, yet again, with an angelic white gown by Michael Cinco!

Gouna

8# Kenzy Abdallah

Would you look at this beauty? Asser Yassin’s wife, BTW nice tux Asser, but Kenzy just stole the show with her stunning sparkly Temraza dress. We don’t think it could’ve ever looked this astonishing on anyone else!

Gouna

9# Nesreen Tafesh

The half Syrian half Palestinian actress/singer’s Sadek Majed beautiful queen-like sparkly gown was the talk of social media; how out of this world did that one look though?

Gouna

10# Lisandra Silva

The Cuban model who was invited to the GFF as an intentional guest, definitely did not come to play! How absolutely outstanding did that red Marcela Beltran look? Just incredible!

Gouna

THE WORST:

1# Dina El Sherbiny:

The navy Roberto Cavalli dress itself is not horrible or anything, but it just didn’t seem to fit the ‘Malika’ star, as the lace transparent part looked a bit wide and shaggy on her. It’s worth mentioning how stunning she looked in the GFF’s 1st edition!

Gouna

2# Yosra

Um, Yosra, you know we love you, but this Antoine Kareh Couture was not the best choice, neither were the colors!

Gouna

3# Nadia El Guindy

We do love legends, just like Nadia, but this Hany El Behairy dress was just a BIG NO for the actress!

Gouna

4# Yasime Raees

There’s nothing wrong with a two-piece angelic white gown to rock the festival, but this Temraza one just seemed like it did not fit the star perfectly, did it?

Gouna

5# Yosra El Lozy

We just did not click with this one. It did not send us the red carpet festive vibes it should have, looked like it did not quite suit the occasion too!

Gouna

6# Boshra

Um, we surely think Boshra could have pulled off something other than this Ziad Nakad Couture off. Neither the color nor the gown’s cut fit the star or made her stand out!

Gouna

7# Yasmine Sabry

Although yellow is such a trendy color right now, and most people who wear it know how to pull it off; it just did not happen with the actress Yasmine Sabri, as the dress itself came out as very basic and its style was neither new nor different!

Gouna

THE ‘ALMOST PERFECT’ CATEGORY:

1# Laila Elwi

The beautiful Laila Elwi wore one of Hany El Behairy’s gowns. Unlike Nadia El Guindy, she did not completely go off with it, but it still couldn’t pass as the best since the lower cut was a bit weird, but the baby blue color was great TBH!

Gouna

2# Mona Zaki

We are just so indecisive about this one! The turquoise color is awesome, the Antoine Kareh cut is not all bad, and it looked good on our beloved actress; but there was just something off about it as the silver ‘stains’ on the side did not add to it the finish it should have! Are we wrong?

Gouna

THE ‘NOT SO SURE’ LIST:

1# Reham Abdel Ghafour

Okay, one can rarely go wrong with a white gown, and we’re not saying that the actress did; as the cut of the dress is beautiful and it really fits her, but we’re just not sure the material fit the occasion, know what we mean?

Gouna

2# Amina Khalil

The stunning actress got us used to her rocking anything she puts on; from ripped jeans to silver rings, we’ve established that anything looks good on Amina Khalil. However, we did not completely click with this one. We love the patterns and colors but there’s just something wrong about it that we can’t fully explain, not her best choice TBH, but it’s not the worst either! Maybe if the cut was different, it would’ve come off better?

Gouna

3# Sherin Reda

The actress looked incredible in last year’s first edition; however, this time we just don’t know where to place her, as her black Bulgari gown was just too basic and fury to be considered one of the best, but it still isn’t all bad, right?

Gouna

4# Arwa Gouda

Again, white could never be a bad choice, but we just did not get any exceptional vibes from the beautiful Arwa’s Zeina Hosny dress. A little more effort with it could have easily put her on the ‘best’ list; don’t you agree?

Gouna

5# Ghada Adel

Okay, we can’t say we hate the dress, but we honestly don’t love it too! The dreamy silver color is very pretty and its lower part is not awful; but it clearly just did not fit the actress, and we know for a fact that if she had worn another gown, she would have pulled it off!

Gouna

So those were our picks for the best, the worst, the ‘almost perfect’ and the ‘not so sure’ dressed celebrities at the long awaited second edition of the Gouna Film Festival; do you agree with us? Share your thoughts and let us know!
