“Given a choice, at a funeral most of us would rather be the one in the coffin than the one giving the analogy,” says, known actor and comedian, Jerry Seinfeld. Indeed, many of us tend to feel a little tense and apprehensive when presenting a topic or speech. Personally, I get the tendency to switch to the flight mode. Most of the time, my mind goes blank and I just ramble. Having that perfectionist side of me, I yield for the ideal in everything. Consequently, I (and I’m sure most of you) have a constant fear of not giving the best speech on a particular occasion but not to worry, here are some key points for giving an awesome speech.

1. Build your confidence.

2. Take charge of the speech early and visualize yourself saying it.

3. Determine the purpose.                                          inspriational speech

  • Generate the main ideas
  • Keep the central idea in mind
  • Acquire supporting material
  • Select and narrow down your information on the topic
  • Organize your speech

4. Know your audience so you can relate and anticipate their reaction.

5. Develop and deliver a well-organized speech that has a clear outline and structure.

6. Seize speaking opportunities to increase your experience in public speaking.

7. Rehearse the speech over and over again.

While presenting focus on the message and feeling it, only then it will be felt and understood by the audience.
