People live this life having different potentials and goals, but they all have one thing in common, which is seeking stability and happiness.

There comes a point in our lives where a storm hits bringing problems or as we call them, disasters.

We suddenly view the entire world differently and whatever it is we’re going through seems to blind us from everything else. We forget about our careers, loved ones, and even our own selves. All we feel like doing is crawling back to bed, closing our doors, turning off our lights and letting our brains slowly eat us up

All what comes to mind at this time is a mountain of questions that you probably have no answer to, and another mountain of negative feelings such as regret, guilt, and intolerable pain. “This is it,” you say. This is the time when you think you have had enough of this miserable world that suddenly turned against you. There is no way this pain is going away no matter what; what’s done is done. I’m holding myself slave to my misery.

But this is not the problem; the problem is whether your reaction to what has turned against you has led you anywhere? Whether whatever you’re doing or thinking is actually moving you forward? Whether you are giving yourself what you really deserve or you’re only torturing yourself?

What you absolutely forget about during this time is that there isn’t a single thing that happens in your life without a purpose, as a result of a series of YOUR actions or because fate is simply playing its role in your life. In all cases, it’s definitely for your own good.

If you are only a victim of other people’s actions, I’m sure you ended up learning a new lesson. If you think negative consequences were only a result of your personal actions or decisionsyou have definitely realized that you should be wiser. Lastly, if it’s only fate taking place, turn to your faith in God and trust His plans for you. Be patient for him to show you the good in what you think is bad.

You are the only responsible person for leading the leash of your thoughts to the right path, a path that will make you a better person instead of taking you down hill where you will be trapped inside the bubble of your own thoughts. Take a deep breath, forget about the situation itself, and try to focus on its purpose. Look outside the box. Learn to defeat your thoughts, get out of your mind traps which are only holding you back. Instead of asking yourself why this happening to you, ask yourself what have you learned from it? What will you do next time this happens again? Search for the good in it. Stop thinking of the “what if’s” and start looking forward to a better tomorrow. Evolve from your mistakes and let them lead you to a better person.

If you change your way of thinking, it means you have not only proven the strength of your abilities, but you have also successfully grown wiser and learned a lesson without letting it get to you. At the end, you would not realize how much trauma has affected you until you wake up one day and find yourself a new person, differently shaped by the life experiences you have been through. Learn that life is not always fair, and learn to take the good from the bad. Always remember that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Learn to stand up for yourself no matter how many times life knocks you down, because life will keep teaching you lessons till your very last day in it.
