People who seek happiness and inner peace are resorting more and more to meditation to find their answer. They’re always attending seminars, or reading books and articles to educate themselves about meditation. Those who have a fair knowledge about it practice it in different ways including Yoga or attending meditation sessions with certified coaches. The good news is, you can practice meditation in your own unique way:

  • Getting closer to God: This is a natural way of meditation.
  • Reading: Books transform you from the real world into an imaginary one which can temporarily help you forget all about your stress and worries.
  • Listening to classic music: Listening to your favorite tracks helps you heal your problems away.
  • Discovering new hobbies: Try to invest your time and effort in pursuing a new hobby. Learning something new can be a simple cause for happiness.
  • Small achievements: Be keen to set small goals and achieve them throughout the day (eg. finishing a book, calling your parents, setting a deadline for your tasks and sticking to it).
  • Helping others: Try to help others by simply listening to them or sharing their happiness.
  • Smile: Try to draw a smile on others’ faces.
  • Talk to God: You may feel relieved by talking your problems out to others, but no one has the ability to heal your sadness or stress except “Allah”. If you’re feeling down, talk to God, not other human beings.
  • Sea: Going to the beach specially during sunset can be a very effective way of relaxation.
  • Reflect on God’s creation: Try to see the beauty in nature and think about God’s magnificent creation.
  • Shopping: As if you try to satisfy your sad soul by buying new clothes.
  • Keeping silent for a while: Try to remain silent for around 15 minutes without thinking about anything or speaking to anyone.
  • Remember good things: Remind yourself of past happy events or think of someone you love.
  • Go for a walk: Whenever you feel stressed, go for a short brisk walk in order to combat any negative energy.

If you try all the above relaxation steps, or at least some of them, you surely will feel better “Insh’Allah”.
