The most anticipated events of the year are never disappointing and are always exceeding our expectations. Those celebrities definitely turned heads… and not in a good way.

Those celebrities were determined to make a statement on the red carpet, and they sure did. Here are our picks of avant-garde outfits, in no particular order, of our worst of the worst dressed this year.

1. Rihanna at the Met Gala

What’s going on here Riri? We understand this is supposed to be an architectural piece but come on, it looks like she’s fallen into a pile of fabrics and emerged as a human bouquet. This is definitely more of a distraction than a showpiece.

2. Katy Perry at the Met Gala

Katy Perry has definitely caused a stir in this custom made piece by John Galliano. Red tulle, red chiffon, red wool coat, red boots, weird-looking headpiece complete with a headache from her audience.

3. Dencia at the Billboard Music Awards

And the award for the most impractical dress goes to none other than Dencia. She has surely raised the stakes in this yellow number by taking the bee-style to a whole new level. She completed the look with a bizarre geometric headpiece and shoulder piece. Definitely a bold look… we mean bad look.

4. Jacqueline at the Grammys

Jacqueline Van Bierk at the Grammys

We get it that some events require a dress code. But that one was quite literal. Oh Jacqueline… What have you done? Singer and songwriter Jacqueline Van Bierk opted blue hair unlike last year’s pink hair disaster. Oh and in case you were wondering, the CDs are held with safety pins.
