Beautiful skin is something most women crave to have or achieve. Without a doubt we are showered with photos of women with flawless, healthy skin in all magazines and advertisements. While it may sometimes seem impossible, these are everyday steps to achieve that look. Knowing how to prepare, repair and let your skin shine before makeup is one of the best things you can do for yourself.

1.Face Cleansing:

When it comes to facial cleansers, it’s better to choose the right formula to match your skin type. Anything including hydroxyl or glycolic acids ingredients may provoke irritation and redness which may ruin the canvas look you are after for your face. Also if acne is your main concern, look for a PH balanced cleanser that matches your skin since it needs a certain amount of acidity to fight off bacteria as it is more prone to grow in alkaline conditions.

2.Exfoliating:

There is no better way to say farewell to dead skin other than exfoliating. The key is to look for a gentle scrub with tiny round shaped granules, seeing rough ingredients may cause irritation and more damage to the skin. Note: Don’t forget that your neck IS part of your face, so including it in your exfoliating process is a must. Wash your face well enough to avoid your makeup caking up.

3.Vitamins:

Vitamins are mainly found in facial serums, and this step being the most important, is also the step that is most forgotten about. It is better to use serum post exfoliating since your pores that usually trap makeup in side just had a deep clean. Not only is it rich in Vitamin C and sodium hyaluronate, it adds moisture and keeps your face glowing all day long.

4.Moisturize:

When it comes to moisturizers, look for a day long hydrant. Moisturizing keeps your skin smooth and even, just before applying your makeup. Keep in mind that moisturizers containing SPF prevent the skin from colour blotching in the sun especially if you wear a lot of makeup during the day time, if it does not contain SPF, it is better to use sunscreen right after using your day to day moisturizer.

5.Face Prime:

Now this is the runway secret I am about to share with you. Primers are mostly usually used by models, why? They are a natural pre makeup skin treatment, even better if it was silicone based. It fills the fine lines and wrinkles, leaving a barrier between the moisturizer and the oil your skin releases, from mixing with your applied makeup.
