Walking is a habbit of mine, that is why I resisted using cars until now; a walk followed by a nice and light lunch is simply perfection. Maadist are blessed with a serene and safe neighborhood where a number of selective and cozy restaurants are finding sanctuary.

The Greek, a cozy eatery in Degla may be all you need to get a taste of Greece; co-founded by a Greek chef, the authenticity of the ingredients and the originality of the recipes is guaranteed. The small bistro combines white and blue hues to create a typical Greek atmosphere while the open kitchen and the white walls give it a more industrial air.

For appetizers I opted for the Tarama, a favorite of mine since I first tasted it at the Greek club in Alexandria years ago, but these guys really aced it. The Greek Salad is made with REAL veta cheese which is an achievement on its own since the dairy product is such a rarity.

The giros, chicken, meat or vegetarian sandwiches, are flavorsome, Healthy and reasonably priced; the almost Shawemra sandwiches are stuffed with your choice of meat/chicken/veggies with fried potatoes and dressing.

The Greek is always packed and the passivity of you arriving to a full house it pretty damn possible, so reserve you table before hand and get there on time.
