B-Boy Lil Zoo crowned Regional
Champion of Red Bull BC One
Middle East and Africa’s representative will be
gearing up for the Final in Rome
This year’s Red Bull BC One was unlike any other. Sixteen of the best B-Boys in the Middle East
and Africa gave the performances of their lifetime as contemporary Hip Hop arts shone and
contrasted with the unique architectural features of the historic location hosting the
competition: the Baron’s Palace in Egypt.
Accompanied by the cheering of more than a thousand people, Morocco’s Lil Zoo won the
highly coveted title after a fierce final battle against Egypt’s B-Boy Klash, moving on to the
World Final in Rome on November 14. He is the first B-Boy to have won a Red Bull BC One
Regional Final three times.
“This year I felt really good because after a hard time and a lot of training I did it again for the
third time!” said Lil Zoo of his epic win. “I promise I will represent Middle East Africa in the best
way possible in Rome. I can’t wait to compete again on the World Stage.”
The breaking performances showcased in Cairo were nothing short of exceptional, proving the
remarkable level of talent fostering in the region. After an incredible season of impressive
performances, competition peaked at the final where participants fought their way in dual
battles under the scrutinizing looks of three international judges, who based their decisions on
technique, style, and musicality. In the end, Lil Zoo managed to secure the title with a
unanimous vote against local favorite B-Boy Klash.
For the first time in the history of the Finals, three Egyptians took part in the competition: B-
Boy Klash, B-Boy Mohammed and B-Boy Manchester in addition to competitors from Oman,
Jordan, Tunisia, Morocco, Algeria, UAE, Lebanon, Bahrain, Kuwait and South Africa.
Two-time Red Bull BC One World Champions Lilou and Hong 10 and breaking legend Crazy Legs
were the honorable judges for the evening, relying on the stamina and grace of the competitors
to determine the winner of each battle.
“It was so surprising this time, but that is the rule of Red Bull BC One, always surprising,” said
Lilou of the night. “I’m proud of the Middle East Africa scene. We saw a beautiful event and we
had different styles facing each other throughout.”
Lil Zoo will be joining five other Finals winners from North America, Latin America, Western
Europe, Eastern Europe and Asia Pacific, along with 10 of the best B-Boys in the world, carefully
selected by a competent team of experts based on their reputation, fame, character and
international influence. In the end, 16 of the world’s best B-Boys will compete in Rome for a
chance to earn the 2016 Title.
