The Simpsons – the happy family based cartoon show that’s been around before most of us were even born – decided to take a dramatic twist, kill off Bart and let Homer and Marge separate on their 27th season!
Executive producer, Al Jean, announced that Sideshow Bob, voiced by Kelsey Grammer – AKA Dr. Frasier Crane on the NBC sitcoms Cheers and Frasier, will be returning this Halloween to pursue his long life dream of killing Bart. For over 25 years he’s been failing at killing Bart, but this time, he’s said to get away with it. However, the death won’t be permanent.
As for Homer and Marge, it’s even more depressing. On the season premiere, they will announce that Homer has Narcolepsy, something that’s been hinted over the years. This will destroy the marriage and Homer will end up falling in love with his pharmacist, a character voiced by Girls creator-star, Lena Dunham.
Now, here’s everything that’s wrong about these announcements:
We know you’re desperate for views
The views have been declining dramatically over the years and Family Guy is taking over the viewership; we know that! This move is really proving to be the rock bottom for the producers.
We’ve seen it happening before in Family Guy and South Park
The whole Bart dying, it’s old! They said the death wasn’t permanent, so they’ll either make a comeback episode, like what happened with Brain in Family guy when he was killed off for a few episode and got replaced by another character then brought him back. Or it’ll be like South Park when they kill Kenny and bring him back the next episode as if nothing happened.
Let’s be realistic; Homer doesn’t stand a chance with a new lady
We’ve all seen Homer and his “moves.” There is no way that after all this time he’ll have the ability to land a new woman; it just doesn’t make sense!
And honestly, we don’t really care about Marge and Homer’s love life
We watch the show to get a few laughs. If we want to watch a romantic drama, we’d go for Grey’s Anatomy, certainly not The Simpsons!
Whatever they do, it’ll suck without the original voice overs
Original voice cast member, Harry Shearer, announced that he’s leaving the show after a fight with the production team. Shearer voiced some of the most important characters on the show, including Principal Skinner, Kent Brockman, Mr. Burns, Waylon Smithers, Ned Flanders, Reverend Lovejoy, Dr. Hibbert, Lenny Leonard, Otto Mann, Rainier Wolfcastle, Dr. Marvin Monroe and many others. They will be recasted, but it’ll never be the same!
No one even watches the show anymore!
They should’ve canceled the show on the 20th season, while they still had a fan base, and released the movie instead. Now it’s just getting ridiculous! We’re all second-hand embarrassed for you guys.
It’s time to give up guys! From an old Simpsons fan, please call it quits while you still can.
