Funny man and host of the American game show “Family Feuds” Steve Harvey was the host of Miss Universe, and being the epic person he is, he decided to make it the most memorable night in Miss Universe history!
Harvey nailed the whole night, then by the most important part of the night, winner announcement, he announced the wrong winner.
After Miss Colombia, Ariadna Gutierrez, was crowned and waving victoriously to the crowd, Harvey snuck back on stage and said he had announced the wrong winner. It turned out that Miss Philippines, Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach was the actual winner.
“OK, folks I have to apologise. The first runner-up is Colombia, Miss Universe 2015 is Philippines. I will take responsibility for this, it was my mistake. It’s on the card — horrible mistake, but I can show it to you right here,” he said while showing the card to the camera.
Just when you think it won’t get worse, oh it does! As soon as Harvey said the winner is Miss Philippines, the camera moved to her, showing her stunned and speechless.
The cringe trip continued with showing Miss Colombia….well, not moving. She just stayed on stage with her crown, and Miss Philippines walked center stage looking all lost waiting to be crowned. Then akwardly the crown was taken off Miss Colombia to Miss Philippines.
We have to say, Harvey dealt with it like a pro, and props for Miss Colombia for not bursting in tears and running off the stage.
