Admit it. You say many things and take critical decisions which you don’t usually mean and then realize that you are “Kadab ya Abou Salah”.

We always claim that we will study hard by the beginning of the semester. Surprisingly, we seem to have a very high potential at the start but once we hear of a good movie or one of our friends calls us to hang out, we quickly give in .

  • Hanakol healthy food/Hanroo7 el gym

I will eat healthy

This statement sounds like a serious life changing decision when you first hear it from a friend. At the beginning, it seems like a positive initiative and you find your friend bringing well-prepared healthy meals and home made salads for lunch. He/she eventually starts to become lazy and order take-out food.

  • Han3ml diet mn bokra/mn awel el esboo3 el gay

I will go on diet

Of course, you must’ve heard this wishful statement at least once from that overweight friend who wants to lose weight. He/she always says “I WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT” and I WILL START TOMORROW”. Tomorrow and many days follow but they never start this infamous diet.

Han3od fi el final 2

When life sucks throughout the semester and you get bad grades on your midterms, making it up in the final is your only way to save the day and avoid failing the course. Unfortunately, finals are often harder than midterms.

I will never watch scary movies

You probably make this declaration following a sleepless night after watching a scary movie in a totally dark room all by yourself. The atmosphere seems to be good at the beginning of the movie, but at the end you start imagining ghosts and thieves trying to attack you.

Trying to stay awake

You will take this decision every time you stay up all night and go to work or university “mtba2”. The following day after this sleepless night, you literally cannot open your eyes or grasp anything people are saying. You keep loading on caffeine to be able “Tzo2 el youm”. Otherwise, when the weekend comes and you find your favorite movie airing on MBC2, you pull an all nighter again.

Never talk to him again

That one is considered to be your weak point; you decide many times that you are not going to speak to him/her ever again “Ana Ha2ta3 3elakty beeh”. The first or second phone call or text you receive from this person, you become weak and find yourself urged to answer the phone.

Never wear heels

You experience a severe shooting pain in your legs and back after wearing high heels; it almost feels like pins in your legs. You start telling yourself I don’t have to look elegant again w “Malha el gezm el flat”.

  • To do list fi “EL AGAZA”

To do list never done

We all make these to do lists that include many things to do and places to go. Once you finish your exams, you find yourself sitting comfortably in front your TV or laptop wearing your fluffy pj’s with your mouth full of food.

never out again

When you get stuck in the torturous Cairo Thursday traffic, you will realize that it is probably the worst plan as it’s crowded and most people go to the same places. You will end up spending two to three hours trying to reach your destination only to find the waiter rushing in “Fi minimum hadtratk  LE 100”.

  • Never gossip again

Never gossip again

Girls’ gatherings mainly revolve around gossip and in most cases it can last up to two or three hours. After they’ve talked about everybody and his brother, they will agree that it’s a better idea to stop gossiping “Da3 El 5alk lel 5alek”. Ten minutes later, one will tell the other “3arfa b2a meen sabt sa7bha?”
