Our Weekend Pick: Ney Lounge, Zamalek

With Ramadan coming to an end this weekend, you can finally find yourself frequenting all the hot spots you missed out on during the holy month. Although Ney Lounge has been open for quite some time, it’s imperative to give this place the attention it deserves.

Entering into the space, we were welcomed by a library of books and immediately felt the earthiness and warmth of the café. But the real star of the café is the exterior garden where greenery lines the wall and emphasizes the beige tones of the café. What we definitely didn’t expect was the size of this café; there was no indication it would have such a large outdoor garden upon entry. We were delighted to have a change of scenery from the café in Zamalek. Rather than stuffy and crowded, we enjoyed the open air and the delightfully roomy space.

Our favorite dish was their Chicken Ala Kiev, a delicious savory dish of herb roasted chicken breast coupled with their perfectly sliced and roasted potato and vegetables. We found the presentation to be equally beautiful as the place itself. We’re extremely pleased with the fact that they serve breakfast too.
