We’ve all been hearing the “Visit Egypt” and the “Shaga3 seya7et baladak” shenanigans almost everywhere we go. The media has succeeded in making us feel guilty for not taking a break from work and visiting Sharm. I mean, how can I still be at work and not suntanning in Sharm? Shame on me!

Here’s the thing though. All these campaigns might not make sense or seem appealing to the majority of us, but if we sit down and actually think about it, we would find all the reasons to start exploring Egypt now and not later. Forget the TV campaigns; here are actual and realistic reasons why you should take a week off work to further explore Egypt.

You could always use patriotism as a reason to get a vacation

“Ya basha ana 3ayz ashga3 seya7et balady!” If your boss says no, start guilt tripping them into not supporting the country.

25 places to visit in Egypt before turning 25

Everything is now cheaper

Poor us usually have to be charged more than foreigners in our very own country. It might actually be cheaper to travel to Europe than stay at a decent hotel in Gouna. Now, however, hotels are desperate to attract guests and prices are extremely cheap! Unless there’s a nuclear bomb, I bet you won’t find cheaper rates.

24 Reasons You Should NEVER Visit Sinai!

The staff will give you full attention

Another thing about being Egyptian vacationing in Egypt, you won’t have to wait long for someone to assist you. We don’t tip in Euros, so it’s only fair, right? Now with no foreigners around, 7ad hy3abarak a5eeran!

You’ll also find tour guides who are willing to speak in an understandable language

We’ve all been, or at least heard, about someone who went to Luxor and Aswan and hated it because no tour guide was willing to speak in Arabic. Now with us being the majority, they have no excuse to speak in gibberish.

The weather is actually great

Sun in the morning, chilly by night. What more could you ask for?

It really is safer than ever

If Egypt could talk, it’ll say this line

Security is everywhere, and it’s safer now than ever before. We could really abuse the extra security and go to all the places we were worried about visiting before.

So really now, forget what the media is saying. You really should start planning your next Egypt vacation. You need it, deserve it, and might actually end up helping the country’s suffering economy or at least the tourism industry.
