My position as social media manager who’s responsible for checking and replying to Identity’s Facebook messages has exposed me to a whole new world that I never knew existed. Here are some types of people I get to virtually meet and respond to:
1- The one who thinks I’m a relationship counselor
A foreign guy once sent a message asking if we could share a post to let his crush know that he loves her!
2- The one who thinks I’m a motivational speaker
Many people send in pieces of writing and ask for my professional opinion. Whenever I give them positive feedback, they go all crazy and thank me for the huge amount of motivation I gave them!
3- The one who thinks I’m a psychotherapist
A guy once asked for my help because a girl he’d barely seen for a couple of hours and ‘fell in love’ with didn’t reciprocate his feelings. He wanted to commit suicide!
4- The mother who wanted me to date her son
Yes, you read that right! She literally asked for my name and sent me her son’s number!
5- The one who takes me as a relative/friend
For some odd reason, a guy knew I was on sick leave and was actually nice enough to wish me a speedy recovery!
6- The one who thinks I’m a cool person
A guy sent a message at 3 am and weirdly enough I was awake and replied to his message. He was amazed that I’m that cool and that I reply to messages around the clock!
7- The one who sends a message just for the sake of it
Unfortunately, this is true! A message that is nothing but a ‘what?’ or an ‘??’
8- The one who thinks he’s too cool for us!
I was shocked too! Someone sent his CV and unfortunately he was rejected. Once he knew, his reply was ‘عاجلا أم آجلا تندمون أنتم و كل من يتجاهل من يستحق فرصة حقيقية’!!!!
9- The Mr. Agmad Wa7ed!
You know this type who sends hateful words and when you reply in a decent manner, they take it back and start being all nice? Yeah, this is what I meant by Mr. Agmad Wa7ed.
10- The one who keeps nagging!
Hey! I’m human too; I might forget that you sent a message and waiting for my reply!
