Egypt is one big red traffic sign; wherever you go, you’re stuck, wherever you try to escape to, you also get stuck. You are ALWAYS stuck in traffic (except for sometimes on Fridays). Cairo traffic is prone to bring out the worst in people, so here are some tips on how to enjoy being stuck in traffic without having to fight with your fellow traffickers:

Note: The following activities are only humorously suggested for when traffic is at a standstill. Identity does not recommend using your phone while driving.

  1. Clean your car: Take some time and clean your car, at least then you’ll be stuck in a clean one. You know you were probably procrastinating on getting rid of that dust on the dashboard, so now is as good a time as any.3c124b8054eee68e229e098dd2bfeeac
  1. Meet new people:Get to know your fellow traffickers instead of fighting with each other. You can make some really nice friends bonding over how awful the combination of bumper to bumper traffic is with the summer heat.
  2. Write:Get out a piece of paper or even your phone and write your thoughts, a story, a letter for your loved ones, or even your will; with the way people drive, you never know if you’re coming back.    hyperbolememe
  3. Catch up with some old friends:Get out your phone and call your school or college buddies; those friends whom you haven’t called in a long while and get caught up.
  4. Take a lot of “stuck in traffic” selfies: While you still have your phone in your hand, take some selfies and post them on social media and enjoy the likes and comments.          Scientists Link Selfies To Narcissism, Addiction & Mental Illness
  5. Perform:Turn up the volume and perform a Broadway show in your car. Don’t worry, you’ll find plenty of backup singers to join.
  6. Record a video:Record a sarcastic video of you singing or even complaining about the traffic and upload it to YouTube, you never know, it might be a hit!
  7. Eat:Buy some food from a nearby kiosk or a fast food restaurant or even “Semeet;” however, this wouldn’t be applicable if you’re stuck on 6th of October Bridge for example, so you’d better be prepared for this situation.Screenshot_2015-07-20-23-48-59-1
  8. Nap:Take a power nap to boost your energy and to give you strength to carry on. Only two more hours to go!Screenshot_2015-07-20-23-52-31-1
  9. Meditate:You’re definitely very angry now for being stuck in traffic for hours, so the best thing to relax is to meditate and find your center. You can always find something to do in your free time and there is no better free time than being stuck in traffic. Drive safely and enjoy.
