Sometimes, all we need is to wrap ourselves in a blanket, sit on the couch and get transferred to another dimension with suspense. Here are some thriller films for your choice!

1- The Silence of the Lambs (1991)

They want to seek the help of the mortifying Hannibal Lecter to get information on a case, and they have just the person to hopefully be the key.

2- Prisoners (2013)

A father who would stop at nothing, including taking away his own humanity, to find his missing daughter. Heart-wrenching, chilling and a rollercoaster ride. Incredible performances from the entire cast, namely Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal.

3- Se7en (1995)

The seven deadly sins are well…deadly. The world is a mess. This film keeps you on the edge of your seat, guessing everything and recalculating what you know. These two detectives find themselves in the middle of a game, one they are determined to solve no matter what.

4- Shutter Island (2010)

If you go in, you probably won’t come out. This film questions what you know and what you don’t know. The mind is a powerful thing and once it starts, there’s little you can do to stop it. When a patient disappears with no trace, two Federal Marshals go to investigate and find themselves in the middle of a play much bigger than themselves.

5- Zodiac (2007)

His identity is one big puzzle. He shows himself to the police, but they can’t find him. They have to race against time to use the little they have and work together to capture the murderer.

6- The Dark Knight (2008)

Chaos is a person. An exciting ride, lead by the incredible performance of Heath Ledger as The Joker, where justice has many faces and the personal sacrifice to achieve it.

7- Gone Girl (2014)

Do you know who you’re getting married to? The ultimate set up and frame, devious and cunning. Leaves you in awe and maybe a little scared of what a person is capable of when they’re properly motivated.

8- Source Code (2011)

Eight minutes, he’s got eight minutes to save countless lives. In a body that isn’t his, being a man he isn’t, it’s up to him to stop a fatal train bombing. Fail? Try again.

9- Nightcrawler (2014)

The line is very thin. He’d compromise an investigation in order to be the first, to be the best. And he will stop at nothing to get what he wants. Jake Gyllenhaal is superb.

10- The Prestige (2006)

There are no words to try to express what happens in this film. It’s one big mind game, and when you think you know what’s going on, you realize that you don’t know a thing. It holds you with suspense, one twist after the other. It’s all for revenge.

11- Buried (2010)

One man in an impossible situation with no way out. Don’t blink or you’ll miss something. Ryan Reynolds carries the entire film on his own.

Honorable mentions: Psycho (1960), Run Lola Run (1998) and Argo (2012).

With these films, you’re in for a rollercoaster ride in the comfort of your own home!
