Successful people know that time is precious to be wasted on social media, especially on weekends. How can you disconnect from your phone/computer and connect with “real life”. You have about 18 free hours on your weekend, beside eating and sleeping. Let’s pause and see how we can fully function for the rest of the week.

1-Pursue a passion
It’s very important for everyone to follow their passion and do what they feel inspired to do. Maybe photography, drawing, playing an instrument, writing, fishing, riding a bike, exploring something, eating, reading or cooking. Be kind to your soul and do more of what makes you happy.

2-Exercise
Exercise gives you endorphins, and it makes you happy. Also, exercising make you feel good about your body, helps you sleep better, feel more energetic and of course improve your overall health.

2

3- Family Time
Quit eating on the go and eat with your family. Have some quality time with your siblings, talk to them, know their problems and try to help them with them, take your mum and delight her anywhere. Just be close to your family.

3

4- Travel
Every once in a while you should have a break and go, at least for a night, somewhere new. A place where you can leave your worries behind and think of nothing.

4

5-Volunteer
You have never really lived until you’ve done something for someone without expecting anything in return. Volunteer with an idea, money, old clothes or maybe even teach the poor any skill you have (reading, writing, art, sports, etc.) With good intentions, Allah will refine you. Whenever you wish good for others, good things will happen to you without expecting them.

6-Plan
Plan your weekdays. Don’t let them slip away, and NEVER give in to the routine. I know how hard that is, but if you plan visiting someone after work on Monday, you won’t go home until you do that. Just have a purpose!

6

7-Socialize
Make friends with different types of people. Be nice to others and always look for people who have the same interests like you. Socialize with your colleagues or co-workers. Remember, socializing helps you avoid depression.

8-Have new experiences
You don’t always have to go somewhere to eat. There’s more to life than restaurants and cafes. Try going to a theater or the Opera; just go somewhere new.

9-Reflect
Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect. For me, I sometimes try to make my mood uplifting and peaceful, and then watch the world around me reflect that mood.

9

10-Meditate
Watch the sunset or sunrise. Do some yoga, or at least you can lay on your back look up and think for a moment how blessed you are. Meditation helps you dissolve anger and fear. Meditation is not about retreating from the world; it gives us inspiration. Whatever you do, if you have peace of mind, your work will be more enjoyable and productive.

10

11-Get in touch with God
What keeps us from getting close to God? Think of all the things that he gave you that you forgot thanking him for. Life’s distractions and duties can compete with our desire to spend time with God. HE always listen to your prayers, make the most of them.
