She’s the most famous puppet in Egypt and maybe abroad! Well known for her funny and sarcastic tweets. A puppet who has a daughter(Caroline) and it’s own youtube channel with enormous amounts of followers, a Facebook profile with millions of fans, so why not have it’s own TV show? Seems legit, right?

Rough Start

The comic puppet was charged in 2014 with conspiring to commit acts of terrorism, following an ad for the mobile network Vodafone Egypt. Fahita was accused of delivering encoded messages  threatening security; planning a terrorist attack on a shopping mall.  An accusation highlighted in every international newspaper. Something sad but we laughed about it, nonetheless. It’s a puppet for God’s sake!

A Star Is Born

After the fiasco of the accusation, she replied in the coolest and the most legit way ever…. A SONG!

The New Show

The controversial show will be aired on a privately owned TV channel CBC and is classified ‘Adult Only.’

In the promo, Fahita is wearing a robe and in bed requesting two bodyguards to take off  their clothes one by one.

“Is it true that you are the bodyguards? We should begin with the body, take off your coats… also, the shirts. Stretch your belly. Curve over to get the boots with your teeth. ” Abla Fahita tells the men standing before her.

In addition, they set up questionable billboards to market the show, as Abla Fahita is shown reading ”Fifty Shades Of Gray”.

No one knows yet if the show will be a sarcastic political/social copy of Bassem’s show or just a funny show to kill time!  We hope it tackles sensitive and serious topics sarcastically, and hopefully in a different approach than her peer Bassem, to make it happen on screen! That’s exactly how you reach out for Egyptians. We are people who communicate through comedy, literally.  If she has a good message to deliver, not just another cheap show, will surely be a huge supporter!
