In the wake of breaking stereotypes surrounding our society, as an English-speaking magazine, we found one that concerns us and we wish to help break it. It’s about how Egyptians have bad English accents. On sitting down with Amr Abdelrazzak, Founder and CEO at BPO Hive, we found out he wants to break this stereotype and bring Egyptian talents forward. BPO Hive is a telemarketing service and a Virtual Professionals Company in Egypt. Talking to Amr, we found it quite interesting to get a glimpse of his story, achievements, and dreams. We asked him a few questions, and here’s how it went!

What makes Egyptian employees unique in the global market?

Well, that question is exactly how we derived our mission statement. You see, contrary to common belief, our English accents can be just as good if not better than the American, British, and Canadian accents of native speakers. Not only that, but our work ethic, determination, and strive for success set us apart from other agents.

Describe the greatest working day you’ve had.

It was your average Friday evening, tying up loose ends and setting myself up for the weekend, when I received a review from our 1st client, illustrating that our Egyptian agents secured 30% more sales than their American peers. At this very moment, the possibilities were countless.

Talk about the most difficult time in your life.

My grandfather’s death. He was a great source of support in my life ever since I was a kid, always pushing me to become the best version of myself.

How well do Egyptian talents perform compared to other nationalities?

In our 2 years of work, we’ve taken the market by storm, beating native agents in such a short period of time. It’s not only that those Egyptian agents already add value through the much lower rates they provide, but they also outperform all other nationalities in virtually all aspects of the job.

How did you start your career?

I started working as a Real estate agent, hunting leads for a UK account for a year of outstanding performance. And that’s when it hit me, why do talented Egyptians always settle for less? I had to do something about it, so I decided to bring talented people forward via BPO Hive. Despite many barriers, we were serious about our goals, so we ultimately realized them.
