Start your weekend by joining us for a night of fun experimentation at Eish & Malh! Come experience an array of shorts, silent films and more contemporary works, alongside a four course dinner tailor-made for the occasion. Dinner at the Movies is an event programmed by Cimatheque – Alternative Film Centre.

The event will explore images of cities and urban life in cinema,
including silent comedies, and newsreels from Egypt, amongst other works. We will also be screening films from the oft-forgotten yet incredibly influential city symphony genre, which can best be described as poetic, somewhat experimental documentaries depicting images of city life. Films featured in the program include Charlie Chaplin’s Easy Street (1917), Mannus Franken & Joris Ivens’ Rain (1929), and more contemporary works by filmmakers from the region. A detailed program will be posted shortly!

To enjoy the seated dinner event, you must reserve your table in advance by calling 01098744014 or sending us a message on facebook. The rest of our space will remain open to the general public, so if you’re curious, please stop by for a peak while having a drink!

Important note:
The dinner will be set-up to reflect the communal experience of both dining and being at the movies. Seating will be open at 7:30 P.M., and the event will be organized on a first-come, first-seated basis, so please be sure to show up on time!
