Egyptian Celebrities to Host Late Night Shows

Late night shows are comedy talk shows that include monologues, comedy sketches and celebrity interviews. They’re very popular worldwide, particularly in the US, with so many shows such as Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, Late Night with Stephen Colbert …etc. Despite the popularity of late night shows around the world, it seems that our Egyptian versions are not getting enough attention due to the hiring of the wrong hosts who often lack charisma, sense of humour and popularity.

Egyptian late night shows need to be run under the right hands, from the producer, to the host and the writing staff. In Egypt, we have tons of charming, witty and funny celebrities. Here’s a list of Egyptian celebrities who should consider hosting late night shows:

1- Adel Imam

Adel Imam is one of the funniest people alive; he isn’t called “Al Za3iem” for no reason. Adel Imam knows how to make an audience laugh hysterically. His movies and TV series are unforgettable to say the least. Imagine him hosting a late night show; how epic would that be? He has the charisma, the amazing sense of humor and knows how to inter-react with the audience. Someone please make this happen and called it “Late Night Show with Al Za3im”.

2- Samir Ghanem

He’s FATOOTA; do we really need to say more? Mention one time Samir Ghanim appeared on TV and you didn’t laugh your eyes out until they teared? Samir Ghanim is a natural when it comes to comedy. Improvisations and punchlines are his thing. If Samir Ghanim hosted late night show, it would be an instant success. (Suggestion also make Dalal Abdelaziz, Donia Samir Ghanim and Amy Samir Ghanim guest star on that show for comedy skits). A family hosting late night show! Now, that’s a formula for winning.

3 – Ahmed Helmi

Late Night Show with Ahmed Helmi, we hope so!! Ahmed Helmi proved to the audience that he can do almost anything, from acting, hosting TV shows for kids, Man Sayrba7 el Million, being a judge on Arab’s Got Talent and writing a book. He’s considered one of the finest actors and is very popular among the youth. To host a late night show won’t be a problem for him, as he got the persona and the charms to pull it off.

4- Ashraf Abdelbaky and Mohamed Heneidy

Remember the old golden days when Ashraf Abdelbaky and Mohamed Heneidy starred in the hit movie “Sa7b Sa7bo”? The term “Sa7b Sa7bo” suits them perfectly as they’re both funny, enjoy a good chemistry and would make a hella of a good late night show. From the opening monologues to comedy sketches, these two will rule television universe.

5- Shicko, Ahmed Fahmy, Hesham Maged

The “tholathy el mare7” of our generation, Shicko, Ahmed Fahmy and Hesham Maged are funny as hell. The trio hosting late night show would be nothing short but excellent. They already proved that they rock on the big screen and the sliver screen. Watching them hosting late night show would be full of parodies of Ahmed Sakka, making fun of everyday situations as well as the current news.

6- Ahmed Amin

Ahmed Amin started by posting videos on Facebook before collaborating with Etisalat Masr on (Al Break) on YouTube. He’s now writing and starring on Al Nahar’s channel, Al Plateau. He established himself as a writer and an amazing host. A living proof of his comedic chops was hosting the Arabian Cinema Awards earlier this year. Late night show needs Ahmed Amin to be its host.

7- Hesham Mansour

Star of the YouTube series (Al 3elm w el Eymaoh) and writer of the romantic comedy film (kedbet kol youm), Hesham Mansour is the man for the job. He’s sarcastic and charismatic, exactly what late night shows are looking for in a host.

8- Bayoumi Fouad

Beyoumi Fouad INVADED the television scene already. From TV series, movies, plays and commercials (m3t2ish 7aga), so why not hosting late night shows? NO ONE CAN STOP HIM AND NO ONE WILL. But seriously we wouldn’t mind him hosting a late night show; it would be hilarious AF.

9- Akram Hosny

With a successful radio talk show and television talk show under his belt, Akram Houssny’s got it all, the real persona and the TV persona (Abo 7afiza). He’s excellent when it comes to interviewing celebrities and performing comedy skits and musical numbers. “As3ad Allah Mas2akom live with Akram Housseny/Abo 7afiza”, that sounds terrific.

10- Mohamed Ramdan

You really think we weren’t going to mention him? He’s everywhere, not as near as Bayoumi Fouad, but Mohamed Ramdan is a force to be reckon with. He’s the only one who achieved success in a TV series, a movie, a play and bought two of the most expensive cars all in one year, ONE YEAR!! Mohamed Ramdan is already popular among Egyptians, so him hosting late night shows would have the highest watch ratings in TV history. Love him or hate him, he’s here to stay.
