With four episodes out, the new Shahid original created a buzz on social media and is currently the number one most-watched series in Egypt on the platform. Stepping in, we binged the episodes of El Leila Weli Fyha and came across a few things to say! But before we dive in, the show is a solid recommendation!
El Leila Weli Fyha is a crime thriller drama starring Zeina, Mohamed Shaheen, Abyusif, Alaa Morsi, Samah Anwar, and many others. Talking about the story first, it was full of suspense; we kept watching the four episodes on the edges of our seats. Each episode had a fair amount of twists with many flashbacks and ended on a cliffhanger.
The series follows the story of Rasha, who tries to hide the body of the man she had an affair with from her husband, so she puts herself and her life at risk of extortion and fear. While the story might have many layers to unravel or seem fast-paced to some people, it’s thrilling for others who feed on major dramatic events each second of an episode.
A great addition to the show is the cast. Zeina is portraying a complex woman with many secrets and sides hiding from the world, and she’s doing a great job giving the performance of a lifetime. Abyusif is also right on; his authentic acting skills count for something considering this is his first acting role. Another cast member that’s doing her role justice is Samah Anwar. Her performance left us believing she’s that kind of mother-in-law you don’t know how to feel around. It’s only fair to mention that the rest of the cast is doing a great job, too!
The series has season one written beside it on Shahid, which makes us wonder if there’ll be more seasons of El Leila Weli Fyha, and we have even more questions than that. The episodes come out every Thursday, and we can’t wait to see what happens next!
