Many people live their entire lives trying to look just fine when they’re actually spending each day looking over that little thing they fear. You don’t have to be that person; it’s about time you stand up to your fear. Here’s why you should do it sooner than later:
1- It’s Not Worth It
Whatever the reason that has been bothering you your whole life, it’s not worth losing one second of your precious time to think about it. As much as you try to convince yourself that it’s not really affecting you, deep inside you know that it is. NOTHING in the world is worth bothering you.
2- To Face Your Weaknesses
Some people don’t admit this, but it’s true. Your fear of something is your weakness. No matter how strong you are, the little thing that you fear is always going to hold you back. It could be a simple thing that you don’t actually consider important, such as doing a presentation in front of a small crowd. Think about how many things you may have missed out on just because you didn’t want to step up and talk it out. The worst thing that can happen when you actually face your fear will ALWAYS be far better than living with such a weakness.
3- To Get Rid of the “What if’s”
“What if I failed? What if I met the group of friends who used to bully me back in school? What if I bump into my ex when I’m going out? What if they laughed at me?” And the list goes on. Do you really want to live a life full of “What if’s”? Why don’t you consider a new “What if everything went great, and I don’t have to be afraid anymore?” Now, this is the ONLY “What if” that you deserve to be living with.
4- To Be Confident
You might already be a confident person, but a little extra confidence never hurt anyone. Knowing that you were able to overcome something you once feared will boost your confidence even more. You will become the leader of your own life and get the feeling of being able to do whatever you want whenever you want.
5- To Push Your Limits
Fear exists only in your head. You will always imagine a worst case scenario that stops you from pursuing your plans. Thus, it limits your true capabilities and hinders your successful journey. For example, people who are afraid of change can spend a lifetime settling for their current position when they could have reached a much higher status if they had just faced their fear and accepted change. So why would you accept less when you can have more?!
6- To Live the “Magic”
As crazy as it sounds, but magic does really exist outside your comfort zone. A magical love story can happen if you overcome your fear of falling in love. A successful business can be established if you overcome your fear of taking risks. You can become the best company’s presenter if you overcome your fear of public speaking. Your story can be published if you show it to a publishing house. Zillions of magical things can ACTUALLY happen if you just stood up and faced your fear. And it’s not supposed to be easy, because the best things in the world never come the easy way.
7- To Move on
Most importantly, you deserve that closure. You will never be able to fully move on from something you fear to face. However, when you get up and face whatever it is that’s bothering you, you give yourself a chance of freedom and one less thing to worry about. You get to write the ending of your story instead of having it written by the fate that you once forced onto yourself. It’s time to have the ending you deserve the most.
Each one of us has his own story and his own fear, but if we continue to live with that fear, we will never know our true power or have the future we deserve. Because YOU are worth it, step outside your comfort zone and live the life you deserve.
