Have you ever wondered how to convert show-stopping runway ensembles to everyday wear? It is no wonder that the spirit of ready-to-wear can be lost in the extravagant sets used to showcase designer runway collections. Stepping outside the confines of humdrum fashion week locales, cruise collection shows take place in the most exotic locations, more akin to a Broadway production than a fashion show.

Dior- Boho Cowgirls

The show took place in the mountains of Santa Monica, California. The makeshift runway, which was flanked by tents, crowded with hot air balloons and bearing the “Sauvage” trademark, conjured images of old Hollywood Western films. Channeling the Wild West can be as easy as donning the perfect straw or suede hat- but mixing it up with some boho-chic pieces is sure to add just the right dose of femininity.

Chanel- Grecian Goddesses

Karl Lagerfeld did not disappoint Paris. Transporting nothing short of the Parthenon to the set, his Antigone inspired set heralded an ethereal and dreamlike lineup of models seemingly walking on air. Gladiator sandals were elevated as delicate gold straps wove their way around thigh skimming hemlines. Transport the light texture and majestic headpieces to the beach and allow your cover-up to billow in the seaside wind.

Louis Vuitton- Fancy Casuals

Taking cues from Japan’s history and pop culture alike is nothing new for LV’s Nicholas Ghesquiere. Nestled in the hills on the outskirts of Kyoto, the stark and modern Miho Museum provided the ideal frame to present the modern Samurai and Kabuki infused collection. The secret to the looks was the masterful juxtaposition of rebellious casual wear and intricate glamour. You can emulate this spirit of this collection by dressing down luxe evening wear with simple jeans and a tee.

Gucci- Heavy Metals

Nothing less than the opulent Palazzo Pitti of Florence would do for Alessandro Michele’s brand of kitsch couture. Bringing Gucci back to its hometown glory, the show was every bit as grandiose abound with Renaissance style in every corner as it was staged across 7 rooms! In keeping with the nerd meets soaring socialite looks we have come to revere from Gucci, try to pair lamépants with a casual shirt and horn-rimmed spectacles.
