Shockingly, there are actually a lot of celebrities in Hollywood who’ve got Arab roots! Some of them have come to me as a shocker, some are obvious and most of them, for some reason, make me happy. Here’s a list of a few stars with Arab parentage!
1- Mika 
I’m always happy to refer to Mika as a famous Arab celebrity! He was actually born in Beirut, Lebanon. His mother is Lebanese, and his father was born in Palestine. He’s lived in several places though, from Lebanon (which his family had to leave when it was in war), to France, to England and America.
2- Salma Hayek
This one’s quite obvious. I mean, Salma Hayek is an Arabic name. Well, she’s Mexican, but her father, Sami Hayek, is of Lebanese descent! Her paternal family lives in Baabdat, Lebanon.
3- Zoe Saldana
Zoe Saldana who’s famous for Avatar, Guardians of The Galaxy, Star Trek, The Terminal and much more, has Haitian and Lebanese parentage. That one came to me as a shocker since she doesn’t really look Arab.
4- Wentworth Miller
The Prison Break star is a citizen of the world! He’s got roots in Jamaica, England, Germany, Russia, France, the Netherlands and thankfully Syria and Lebanon too! He gets the Arab descent from his mother’s side.
5- Gigi Hadid
The American fashion model’s last name says it too! Her father, Mohamed Hadid, is actually Palestinian-American! So she’s technically biologically half Arab.
6- Vincent Vaughn
I thought this one was surprising! We’ve seen him in The Break-Up with Jennifer Aniston, in The Internship, Wedding-Crashers, and so many more. He does have that Arab-ish look! But you wouldn’t have thought that he could actually have an Arab in him, but he does apparently! His paternal grandmother is of Lebanese descent.
7- Jerry Seinfeld
We all know him from the Seinfeld show! You know, the creator and the main protagonist! Well apparently, his mom is of Syrian descent. He’s American, but his maternal grandparents were from Aleppo!
8- Ariana Grande
We don’t actually know much, but lately she posted on social media that she had only recently found out that she had North African roots. Her tweet said: “Just found out my grandparents are heavily Greek and part North African…. I thought I was Italian… who am I ? My whole life is a lie”.
9- Shakira
She’s actually Colombian, but her paternal grandparents emigrated from Lebanon to America, where her father was born. So her father is biologically 100% Lebanese. He moved to Colombia when he was 5 though, and that’s where Shakira was born.
10- Jenna-Dewan Tatum
This beautiful lady, married to this handsome man, and who’s also the amazing dancer from Step-Up is of Arab descent. Her father has Lebanese and Polish ancestry!
11- Teri Hatcher
We probably all recognize her from the famous television show, Desperate Housewives. She’s American as well, but her mother is half Syrian and half Czech, with Irish ancestry.
12- Rami Malek
The guy everyone’s been talking about in the past week after he won his Emmy award! Well, he’s American, but his parents are both Egyptians. Yay! There have been many debates regarding his nationality recently, and even though he is American since he was born and raised there, I still feel proud to say that he has Egyptian parents.
It’s always nice to see famous Hollywood celebrities with Arab roots! I’m sure there are many more too.
