It is well known fact that we all have different types of skin, and it is also known that the weather changes can cause minor sometimes even major transformation to our skin type. The key here is getting to know your own skin and feeling comfortable in it, not only that!But creating a special relationship with it can be very effective towards achieving and maintaining the care your skin needs.
There are 5 different types of skin. The dry usually lacks moisture that your pores occasionally release which leads to crackly and flakey looking skin that often feels too tight for comfort. The oily is too shine for anyoneโ€™s liking and due to the excessive oil release it is easier to build up pimples and blemishes that can be quite embarrassing at times. The sensitiveis thin in texture hence why itcan be easily affected by the weather changes and the highs and lows of temperature, not only that, it can be easily prone to allergic reactions. The normalis everything all the other types arenโ€™t about, it is even in tone with a fair amount of grease release and that due to the invisibility of the pores on it,and The combination between both oily and dry which is the most common leaves your T-zone (Forehead-Nose and chin) oily while the rest of your face sits there dry. Each type requires a certain way of treatment and a certain type of cream. So when you decide to pamper your pretty face make sure you are using the right remedy that is applicable for your type of skin, other wise the reaction can be a pain in the neck you donโ€™t really want to go through.

As much as cosmetic companies strive to deliver the perfect creams and treatments, I find comfort in natural ways to achieve visible results without hurting my pocket very much. So if you are sitting at home with some spare time on your hands, why not get up and try one of these facial masks made of pretty much what is stored in your kitchen daily!.

Dry skin Mask (10-15 min)

All you need is an Avocado and Yogurt. Avocado contains Vitamin E which is a great moisturizer for dry skin.ย  Slice a whole piece and blend it with 4 tablespoons of yogurt, apply and leave on for 10 to 15 minutes. You can use this mask every 2 weeks to maintain the moisture of your face.

Oily skin mask (10-15 min)

A cucumber and yogurt is all you need here. Clean and peel one cucumber, put it in a blender with a one tablespoon of yogurt until smoothed. Apply it to the entire face avoiding eye are, and simply remove with lukewarm water. While we are at it, Black heads are pretty common with oily skin, to deal with them use 3 table spoons of baking soda with an equal amount of water in a bowl, massage into skin for 3 minutes then rinse with warm water.

Sensitive Skin Mask (10-15 min)

When it comes to sensitive skin, it simply makes sense that honey is involved, So one carrot that is grated then extracting itโ€™s juice with a full spoon of honey sounds pretty sweet to me. Pat the mixture on your skin and rinse after 10 to 15 minutes.

Normal Skin Mask (15-20 min)

If you neglect normal skin type, it can cause aging and wrinkle so it totally makes sense that olive oil and eggs are involved here. 2 to 3 teaspoons of bran, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 1 egg yolk. Mix together then apply. Rinse with warm water and pat dry.

The combination Skin Mask (15-20 min)

Parsley leaves and honey bees are the way to go here. Finely chop one bunch of parsley leaves, put in water for 3 to 5 seconds, remove and strain out the juice, mix with honey then apply. Wash with cold water and pat dry with a piece of cloth.

 

TIPS:

– It is best to use the homemade mask soon after you make it. If you have leftovers worth keeping, a week is the maximum storage duration.

– Clean your skin before applying a facial mask.

– Donโ€™t leave the mask on longer than instructed.

– Smooth honey over the sensitive skin under your eyes before applying the facial. Honey is gentle and beneficial to any skin type.

– Mask application must be avoided around the eyes and mouth.

– If you are treating your skin for the first time, you may find blemished a week after. This indicates that the treatment is working.

– Mask are more effective after a steam facial, since your pores are wide open, the vitamins have easier excess through them.
