I survive what’s going on in Cairo by keeping myself busy at the gym, work and doing other activities I wouldn’t do normally like go to the club, horseback riding and similar stuff.  But I have a rule after 10 pm no news whatsoever and I just dive into my movies and shows that are basically what’s keeping me sane these days!–Hassan Gabr, 32.

When the curfew was at 7, I watch shows online, movies. Spend time with the family which didn’t happen a lot before. I actually love the curfew; I feel like it’s a form of discipline and time management. Travel during weekends. -Amina Elshazly, 24.

Well, in order to avoid shitty news I avoid Facebook, as Egyptians tend to over dose, over analyse stuff and everyone thinks he is a political analyst, I stopped checking twitter and I only check Instagram as it has happy images on it. When I want to check the news I do it on my terms once a day and I open the credible news websites only.–Anonymous.

I haven’t been leaving the house much as of late, soon after walking out the door I’m often struck by deep sense of paranoia and anxiety. So mostly I’ve been suppressing these pernicious thoughts by hiding under my bed in the fatal position.–Wally Mowafi, 26.
