It’s finally September, which only means one thing; it’s the new season for TV series! We’re always excited about new TV shows and with last year’s disappointment, this year we have very high expectations. It seems that TV producers might be meeting our expectations after all; we may actually start getting addicted to one or two new shows. Here’s Identity’s guide to the new TV Series that are worth watching:

The Ones We’re Skeptic About:

Heroes RebornHeroes_Reborn_logo_nbc

We admit that we’re a bit biased to this one, since we’re huge Heroes fans. If anyone idolized Heroes in their teenage years, you have to admit that the quality declined as seasons went by. We only kept following because it started off very strong and we couldn’t not see the ending. I mean, are they going to save the cheerleader and the world? That’s why we’re skeptic about the Reborn. Producers, however, are assuring the curious audience that it’s based on the first season, and that it will be of the same quality. But at least we’ll be seeing some of the original characters, because what’s Heroes without Mohinder and Hiro Nakamura?

Premiere: September 24, 2015

Best_Time_Ever_with_Neil_Patrick_Harris_logoBest Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris

Our favourite actor, Neil Patrick Harris, is having his very own variety series on NBC! The show is an adaptation of the British show “Ant & Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway.” Many are skeptic about whether the show can be a “legendary” one; we shall wait and see.
Premiere: September 15, 2015

Minority ReportMinority_report_Intertitle

Based on Philip K. Dick’s science fiction short story, “The Minority Report,” the show is said to be a squeal for the 2002 movie. The show will be set in 2065, 11 years after the movie’s events, and while it follows the same idea as the movie, they seem to be forcing many problems and plot twists to have something new. It might end up either way, great or horrible – particularly since it’s a FOX production.

Premiere: September 21, 2015

Dr. Kendrken

Starring Ken Jeong, aka Chow, aka Señor Chang, is having his own TV show based on his own life. Little known fact: Jeong is actually a licensed physician with an exceptionally high IQ. He loves stand-up comedy, and pursued it along with his medical career. Now, he’s a full-time comedian. This is exactly what the show is about. We’re skeptic though, because it might be milking Ken’s very own persona and character.

Premiere: October 2, 2015

SupergirlSupergirl_(title_screen)

As a part of the DC and CBS agreement, Supergirl is about to have her very own TV debut. While all comics geeks have been super excited about the DC’s shows, especially with the huge success of The Flash, everyone is not particularly keen on Supergirl. The pilot episode got leaked, and it was extremely disappointing. Some said that it wasn’t the main pilot, and that they made changes to the show, but the pilot was so bad, to the point of no saving.

Premiere: October 26, 2015

The Ones We’re Excited About:

Shades of Bluejlo-shades-of-blue

Even though Jennifer Lopez is mostly known for being a singer, she’s also a great actress. Playing an age appropriate role, Lopez features a single mother who joins the FBI’s anti-corruption task force, while still struggling with her own battles. While the story might seem like a cliche, the trailer appears promising and the production seems rich. The release date hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s said to debut early 2016.

Premiere: 2016

Blood & OilBlood_and_Oil_Poster_Key_art_blog_embed

Starring Gossip Girl’s heartthrob, Chace Crawford, Blood & Oil is about a young couple who move to North Dakota after discovering the biggest oil spot in America. Along with the drama, the show will be displaying how the world is driven by greed, money and resources, especially oil.

Premiere: September 27, 2015

BlindspotBlindspot_nbc_logo

A show that’s about a mysterious tattooed woman found on Times Square; she’s totally unaware of her own identity. The FBI try to find clues about her through her tattoos. The show is giving us a lot of Born Identity, Momento, and Prison Break, but it still seems interesting. Many are calling it the show to watch this year, and the trailer proves them right.

Premiere: September 21, 2015

Legends of TomorrowLegends-of-Tomorrow-Hero-Evolution-Video

All the comic lovers are desperately waiting for this show! We had a sneak peak on how this show will go at The Flash’s last season; it showed the main plot for the show and set the mood for it. The Arrow and The Flash spin-off show is about Rip Hunter traveling back in time to the present day where he brings together a team of heroes and villains in an attempt to prevent Vandal Savage from destroying the world and time itself. The great thing about CW’s comics based shows is that they give you the full background story, so even non-comics readers could still understand the shows. The show will also be aligned with The Flash and Arrow.

Premiere: 2016
