I’m a strong advocate of the emoji as a form of communication, but I firmly believe they’re still quite limited in terms of content. This is why I was ecstatic to hear that there are brand new emojis coming to the new iPhone 10 update. Here’s a mockup of the approved emojis from Emojipedia; just tell me you’ve never wanted to have these on your keyboard!
1- Facepalm
Countless times I’ve found myself typing *face palm*. Now, I don’t need to do that with this emoji!
2- Cucumber
I’m sensing this could be a replacement for the eggplant emoji?
5- Stuffed Flatbread (A.K.A Sandwich Ta3miya)
Finally, a ta3miya emoji because the food section in the emoji keyboard needs some Oriental flair!
6- Potato
Sometimes, you just feel like a potato. You don’t want to do anything and you just wanna lie down. This potato is there for those occasions.
7- Bat
For those of you who love Batman, you can now rest easy.
4- Clown
Some people have a fear of clowns; others have a fear of clown emojis.
5- Bacon
I will not begin to outline the importance of this emoji.
6- Lying Face
Pinnochios of the texting world, this should be your go-to emoji when you’re caught in a lie.
7- ROFL
Though we’re not really laughing out loud or ROFL, this is still a necessary addition.
8- Black Heart
If you’ve got one, you can now express it over text.
9- Prince
Is anyone happy with the gender equality on emoji? Now, you have a princess and a prince!
10- Pancakes
Breakfast should always be celebrated in text message form, in all of its maple syrup goodness.
11- Butterfly
When you get butterflies in your stomach, you can actually show how you feel!
12- Selfie
I don’t know how I feel about this one. But in this day and age, not including this emoji would be an offense.
13- Man in Tuxedo
Finally! You can talk about your fake wedding because there’s a woman in a veil and a man in a tuxedo.
14- Shrug
Sometimes, we just don’t know what to do or say. There was never an appropriate emoji till now.
15- Wilted Flower
When you want to shut down anyone who sends you a flower emoji.
16- Tumbler of Whiskey
For those badasses out there who don’t play with the beer or champagne emojis.
17- Avocado
When you want to explain the health benefits of avocado.
