Five years ago, Ramez Galal started his very first prank show, ‘Ramez Qalb El-Asad’. Ever since, every Ramadan Ramez presents us another tacky prank show with an identical starting line and almost the same guests. In case you don’t already know how horrifying his show is, here are 5 reasons why it should be cancelled:

1- These are Horrible Accidents, Not PranksRamez Wakel El Gaw

Every year, Galal’s show is themed around some sort of a horrible accident, like people getting attacked by sharks or a near plane crash. Some viewers may have actually lost their loved ones in similar accidents. Using such painful experiences to get people to laugh is never a good idea.

2- It’s Starting to Be Known Abroad

Paris HiltonNot only does Ramez terrorize Arab celebrities, but he started targeting international figures as well. Last year, Ramez petrified Paris Hilton on his show ‘Ramez Wakel El Gaw’. The prank was basically about being on a plane that was about to crash. When this episode was reported abroad, foreigners found this show -strange- to say the least. Screen Shot 2016-06-01 at 1.02.50 PMScreen Shot 2016-06-01 at 1.04.25 PMThe show is giving the West the idea that Arabs enjoy watching people suffer. This year, the prank is about fire breaking out in a building. A man who is actually on fire appears in the promo. This does not help the already troubled image of the Middle East as a region torn by war and conflict.

3- The Show Is Teaching Kids to Enjoy Violencechild-television_2322538b

“How amusing is it to watch someone as they burn?!” asks Ramez in the promo of this year’s prank showIf watching people burn alive fills your heart with joy, you might as well be a terrorist. Children are highly affected by what they see on TV and they learn a lot from it. If this show keeps airing, perhaps the next generation of Egyptians will stab each other as a greeting.ViolenceRamez

4- Someone Can Really Get Hurt

Hostage

If the guests who appear on Ramez’s show are genuinely frightened for their lives, the experience can have negative psychological and physical effects on them. People with heart disease can get heart attacks; the pranks can also cause personal trauma to the victims.

5- It’s Repetitive

Repeating the same idea for 5 years is hardly innovative. They’re only trying to be creative with new ways to almost kill people!

If this isn’t enough to convince you, I don’t know what will!
