It is nice to pamper yourself with a short trip, a good book or a delectable meal even if it may cost a month’s salary. Last week I headed to Strada, the new addition to the Four Seasons First Residence in Giza, previously known as the Seasons restaurant.

The fancy restaurant has been revamped completely adding a hip-ish feel to the interiors; the walls are adorned with photographs of Italy’s streets and two Vespa’s decorate the entrance of the eatery.

The service is efficient and the restaurant staff is fast and friendly; as usual, the menu is concise and limited only to Italian cuisine. The wine menu however is loaded with local and imported wines that would suit every taste.

I opted for the Mushroom risotto which was thick and creamy with the right among of parmesan cheese to accentuate the flavors. The quantity was humongous and I barely finished half the generous serving.

The Involtino di Pollo was simply a delight; the chicken was well cooked and tender and the parmesan and vegetables stuffing was generous and provided a fest of tastes and aromas to the dish.

For dessert, we had the fruit cake topped with mango and peaches…it was light and heavenly. Other than the fact that we had to put and arm and a leg for this diner, we enjoyed our lovely meal and our beautiful Nile view table.
