Highlights:

The winners this year were fair

Every year we find a show that feels robbed of an award, but this year the winners seemed fair, which is rare to see in any award season.

Andy Samberg’s hosting talents scored an A+

Andy’s hosting gave the night a special flavor as soon as he started, with his unforgettable and sadly, extremely relatable, opening montage. Even the jokes that weren’t on point weren’t actually that bad. Overall, we give Samberg and A+ on his hosting skills.

Game of Thrones broke a new record

GOT got themselves 12 deserved awards this year, and who’s surprised? Awards included best drama, best writing, best direction and best supporting actor for Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lannister. The lack of Kit Harington however, who plays Jon Snow, did raise many eyebrows.

 Viola Davis makes history

“How to Get Away with Murder” star, Viola Davis, became the first African American to win “Outstanding Lead Actress In Drama Series.” Her emotional speech about women of color was so empowering to not just women of color, but to all human beings!

Tracy Morgan is back!

SNL and 30 Rock star was back on stage after his 2014 accident that put him in a coma. It was his first time in the public eye, and his emotional, yet funny, speech made us all happy and emotional that he’s safe and healthy.
