For Alexandrians, Alexandria is considered home; whereas for Cairenes, it’s a favourite getaway. As soon as we set foot in Alexandria, we tend to act like tourists  and completely forget that we’re still in EGYPT!!

-Taking a stroll “3al Corniche”: Needless to say, the selfie mania is very popular 3al Corniche, capturing little pleasures like dora mashwy, termes and “gelaty”-which brings us to number 2.

-Gelaty 3azza: Even though it has been in Cairo for about five years now, we still believe that the original Alex branches are way better. I can’t deny that some ice-cream places like Gelaty El-Nezamy have the coolest ice cream flavours and rice pudding ever.

-Samak: We probably prefer to eat nothing but seafood for the whole trip. There are lots of venues where one can commit this tasty crime: Zefir, Ziferione, and other fancier places like Fish Market, but we’d probably go for the original stuff!!

-Balba3: Whether it’s kabab, fetir or samak, it’s all there. You simply cannot visit Alex without dropping by Balba3 for a meal.

-Sitting in cafés 3al Corniche: There are so many of them, so it’s never hard to spot one. They have an amazing location and are very very affordable.

- Latino’s white chocolate zalabia: For shisha lovers, it’s the place to have their shisha with a stunning view!!

-Greek Club: It always comes highly recommended by Alexandrians; it’s truly one of the best places where you can have a decent tasty meal with a breathtaking view of the sea. It feels like Greece ( only better 😉 )

-El Montazah: We visit the palace, have a walk in the gardens and choose a beach to go for a swim too.

-The Library of Alexandria-a.k.a. Maktabet eskenderia-: It has several coffee shops that boast a beautiful view.

Probably, Alexandrians rarely visit these typical touristic landmarks. They have their own cool outings which don’t necessarily always have to have a sea view. Lucky them, they can enjoy it all year round.
