Derek Shepherd, aka “McDreamy”, was unjustly and abruptly killed off the popular American medical drama series “Grey’s Anatomy”. Derek’s fans were totally taken by surprise and were deeply saddened by the shocking the news of his sudden departure. The following is a small tribute to the awesome neurosurgeon we’ve loved for eleven seasons of ups and downs, through the sad moments and the happy ones. These are but a few of the things we will miss about Doctor Shepherd:
-His smile
Beautiful, indeed.
-The way he looks at Meredith Grey
You couldn’t have missed that.
-How good of a friend he is
He’s always supportive and understanding of those around him and was even able to forgive his best friend, Mark, for sleeping with Addison, his wife at the time.
-How he owned up to his mistakes
He would always acknowledge and apologize for his mistakes, admitting it when he fell short.
-How awesome of a surgeon he is
You have to admit you’ve developed a newfound respect for neurosurgery because of him; I know I did. He made it seem so cool. He cared so much about his patients and always wanted to do the best he could for them.
-How sweet he is to his kids
The pictures say enough.
-His love for Meredith Grey
Always supporting her, saving her and pushing her to be the best she can be; you could tell he truly loved her.
-His playful, happy grin
-His famous “It’s a beautiful day to save lives”
It got me every single time.
-How dreamy he is
McDreamy is right!
-The goodness of his heart
Derek Shepherd was noble and kind. He had integrity and honour. He was faithful to his work, his family and his principles. I will definitely miss seeing his smile and goodness shine on Grey’s Anatomy.
