This weekend, we have a particular hunger for Mexican food. Andย it’s a good thing El Chico exists,ย becauseย where else would we be able to get the chimichanga’s we’re craving?
El Chico is a typical family restaurant whichย has a particularly homey feel to it. The restaurant’s walls are lined with Aztec plates and the red brick interior gives the place a cozy feel. The classic high back wooden chairs add to the rustic feel of this charming place.
what’s special about El Chico’s guacamole dip is that it’s freshly made which makes for a flavorful starter of chips and dip! If you’re not a fan of avocado, you can try the multitude of dips they serve at the restaurant. They’re sure to be just as tasty, if not more so! We decided to go traditional and try their fajitas combo, served on a sizzling skillet with sour cream and pico de gallo on the side. We were pleasantly surprised with how good the chicken tasted when placed in the warmed tortilla bread, and were equally happy with our beef fajita. We finished our meal with some authentic Mexican flan, that could definitely give our Egyptian creme caramel a run for its money!
We’re definitely coming back here again soon, but not just for the food, for their free refills on ice tea!
