People involved in relationships might think that being single is hard. However, peopleĀ who’ve been single for tooĀ long will find it extremely hard to be with someone. They are accustomed to being single, living their own life and makingĀ their own future plans. They probably enjoy the life they chose butĀ it doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t like to share it with someoneĀ and it sure doesn’t mean that they wouldn’t like to fall in love. It will be a lot more challengingĀ for them though.Ā Here’s how:

1-You got used to being alone

You have your own ritualsĀ and lifestyle and it’s hard for you to change your routine for anyone. Yes, you think that when you like someone it will be easy for you to change your habits for them but that’sĀ usually easier said than done.

2-You won’t like the vulnerability and the intimacy that comes with the package

You wonā€™t feel comfortable wearing your heart on your sleeve; the feeling of longing for someone other than yourself will make you uncomfortable, because what if you get hurt? What if they didnā€™t deserve you? It wonā€™t be easy for you to let someone in.

3-The idea of being committed scares the hell out of you

You get scared of being responsible for someone else’s feelings. You get worried that your “freedom” might beĀ taken away from you.

4-You might easily ruin it because of your inexperience

You won’t know what to do or when to do it!! Of course, you follow your instinctsĀ and rely onĀ common sense when it comes to dealing with someone you like or love but sometimes you just need to have a little bit of experience to know exactly howĀ to act.

5-You know you survive, grow and flourish without relationships

You find relationships notĀ a priority because you’ve accomplished so much and survived without them for so long. You usually give up easily on them.

6-You get even pickier and won’t settleĀ easily

You were very picky in the first place and that’s probably why you’re still single. You would definitely get pickier the longerĀ you remainĀ single because would you settle for someone who isn’t perfect for you after all the waiting? You don’t grasp the idea of Ā settling for someone mediocreĀ after waiting for soĀ long.

7-You get easily scared when you see anything you don’t like

It’s because you get scared of being trapped in a relationship. You’re not used to troubles and drama. As soon as you spotĀ a flaw in your potential partner or detect the beginning of a fight, you get scared and run away.

8-You find it hard to put someone’s priority ahead ofĀ yours

For all this time, you’ve been doing whatever comes toĀ mind. You put yourself first and doĀ whatever makes you happy but when you get into a relationship that will definitely need to change. It will be a lot harder to chooseĀ someone else’s best interests over yours.

Just because it is hard, doesn’t mean it is impossible. If being in a relationship is what you really want, with some determination you can definitely overcome these challenges!
