In one of my last trips to Mohandessin, I discovered a newish place called Zucca off Syria Street behind al-Salam Hospital. The new eatery opened in place of Makani, the renowned sushi chain.

The eatery has a lovely wooden patio with the cutest set of tables and wooden chairs surrounded with greenery and greenery in Mohandessin is scarse; to celebrate this healthy atmosphere, I ordered a fresh smoothie and a salad and both exceeded my expectations to be honest; the smoothie was fresh and reasonably sweetened and the salad was simply perfection. The Hawaiian salad is mixture of chicken, pineapple and apple with lettuce and mayo. The mixture is tasty, novel and creative. The service at Zucca couldn’t be better; it is efficient and fast; none of my ordered came late or wrong. For a main course, I went for a quarto fromaggi pasta which was a little heavy and too saucy.

Next time I go, I want to try out their coffees as well; the place also serves shisha.
