This edition of Creative Africa Nexus at the third Intra-African Trade Fair event was a remarkable gathering that brought together industry professionals, live performances, the highly anticipated CANEX Music Factory Album launch, and the CANEX SHORTS awards ceremony. It was a five-day program that inspired attendees and filled with anticipation for the future of the African creative industry.

The first day kicked off with a bang, hosting five-panel discussions featuring stars from the creative industry. Attendees were treated to insights on the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in the dynamic world of creativity. Adding a symphony of artistic expression, seven live performances captivated the audience.

Renowned author Chimamanda brought a literary flair with the introduction of the CANEX Book Factory and the prestigious Prize for Publishing in Africa, a collaboration with Narrative Landscape Press. The day escalated with the launch of the CANEX Music Factory’s album, setting the tone for days filled with rhythmic beats and melodic harmonies.

The Live theatre on day 2 hosted four dynamic panel discussions, allowing creative industry leaders to share their visions and experiences. Six live performances electrified the atmosphere, showcasing the diverse talents that define the creative landscape. The evening closed with the much-anticipated announcement of the CANEX Shorts Winners at the awards ceremony, celebrating outstanding contributions by young filmmakers in the world of short films.

Masterclasses took center stage on Day 3, featuring nine sessions covering various aspects of creative and cultural industries. Gastronomy enthusiasts were treated to four masterclasses, tantalizing taste buds and expanding culinary horizons. The historic Citadel Cairo provided a breathtaking backdrop for the CANEX Presents Africa Fashion Show, a mesmerizing display of fashion, style, and culture by designers from the continent and the diaspora.

Day 4 continued the creative feast with three masterclasses, launching the Gastronomy and Culinary Arts program. A high-level panel discussion with celebrity chefs and food experts added a flavorful touch, while an exciting live demonstration showcased the culinary skills that define the gastronomic world by African top Chefs.

The final day ended with a Business of Sports Masterclass by the Basketball Africa League, offering insights into the business aspects of athleticism. The Design Studio by Azza Fahmy presented an enlightening Jewellery Evolution Masterclass, exploring the ever-evolving landscape of wearable art.

CANEX at IATF 2023 was more than an expo; it was a celebration of creativity, a symphony of talents, and an endless surge of ideas.
