love

It often starts with mere attraction which then leads to something bigger. You meet someone for the first time, and suddenly you get hooked. As days pass, you get convinced that what you’re experiencing is “love“; but is it really? Until that day comes, the day when you realize that something is wrong.

You feel a little bit confused about your feelings and start analyzing every single detail about that person and the whole relationship, realizing that you don’t really belong together.” But how?” – You keep asking yourself. How could all the love fade away so soon? What you don’t understand is what’s been lost is the spark, not the love. You were never really in love in the first place.

You know you’re in love when:

  • You accept this person for who they are

Love is about accepting the other person with all their positive and negative traits. Surprisingly, you might find yourself coping with some flaws in your loved one that you’ve always rejected others for before.

  • You open up about your past, fears and regrets

Usually, when you like someone, you do everything you can to leave a perfect impression, and you try your best to keep this image carved in their mind. You only let them know what you want them to know, afraid that they might see your imperfections. However, when you love someone, you’ll find yourself feeling very comfortable around them; you’ll want them to see you for who you really are. You’ll want to share everything with them without any shame or hesitation.

  • You enjoy the things they like although you used to hate them

Although you’ve never really fancied football, dogs, or reading and never thought you ever would, somehow, you found yourself slightly enjoying them more than before. You think you’re getting weird, but the truth is you’re infatuated; you subconsciously gained your loved one’s interests.

  • You start seeing your future together

The day you daydream about a family with this person, and start seeing them in your future when least expected, is when you’ll come to realize that it’s not like any other past relationship. It’s serious this time.

  • You act like their mother

When you start doing silly stuff such as calling them in the freezing weather to make sure they have their coat on, or when you find yourself cooking their favorite meal to invite them over for dinner instead of all the junk food they’ve been eating lately. When you suddenly start caring about every small aspect in their life; this is when you know you’re falling hard.

  • You get really worried about them when they don’t answer their phone

As silly as it seems, but love starts when you desperately stay glued to your phone’s screen waiting for them to call you back to make sure that everything’s fine with them instead of getting devilish thoughts about them cheating, or simply ignoring your call.

  • You let them go

You know you’re in love when seeing them successful and happy becomes one of your main goals in life. When you encourage them to go after what they want and support them to achieve their dreams, even if it means they have to walk away from you.

Lastly, you know you’re in love when you fall for the person you never thought you’d ever fall for. When you choose a person because they make you feel comfortable, not complete. When you look at your extreme differences as strengths, not weaknesses. When everyone tells you it’s never going to work out, but deep inside, you get that feeling that it will be just fine.
