“Clichés” are actions or expressions which have been so commonly used that they’re no longer original or interesting. The clichés we’re tackling here, however, are ones that you love and usually enjoy doing. If you’re an Egyptian who visited or visits London on a regular basis, you must’ve definitely enjoyed a couple of these clichés, if not all of them!! From shopping to food and everything in between, here are a few Egyptian  clichés in London:

1-Primark

primark

For the entire world, London’s landmark is the London Eye and Big Ben, except for us Egyptians, Primark definitely is. We just tend to lose ourselves in there. Even if you are that person who’s in love with high-end brands, you still pass by Primark and end up buying lots of stuff that you need or don’t need, simply because everything is so goddamn cheap.

2-Bicester Outlet Village

Bicester Village is heaven on earth for brands lovers. It’s the best shopping destination where you get to buy all the brands you wish for at a great bargain.

3-Ben’s Cookies

“fel ray7a we fel gaya” we tend to grab a cookie – if not more. Some of us even bring a couple of tins full of cookies back home; what can we say they’re so delightful!!

4-Madame Tussauds

Of course, we love food and shopping more than anything but that doesn’t mean that we still wouldn’t like taking lots and lots of photos with the wax versions of Angie and brad and share them all over our social medias.

5-Harrods

We just love to take a tour inside even if we’re not planning to buy anything.

6-Cycling at Hyde Park and watching the ducks and geese

Unfortunately, we don’t have many (if not any) decent parks in Cairo where we can spend a nice sunny day out; that’s why we love it there so much. Even if we did have parks, they definitely won’t have ducks and geese and we all know why- Hamam fe Amesterdam is enough reason and proof that they will definitely be in danger. The beautiful sight of these peaceful birds roaming around us at the park is just so serene.

7-Witness Buckingham palace’s changing of the guards

changing of guards

The whole thing is so spectacular but of course we need to make sure to annoy the London guards. Tab3an lazem ne7ot el toush el masry beta3na.

8-Take a picture with the London Eye

Because who doesn’t?!

9-Burgers

We tend to try every single burger place in London and rank them according to our experience.

10-Edgware Road

For all those who aren’t familiar with this street, Edgware Road is full of Arabs, Arabic café and of course shisha. That’s why it really doesn’t make much sense to fly all the way from Egypt to London so you can pay a visit to this “home away from home”!!
