Who needs affection when there’s blind hatred? That’s what enemies-to-lovers revolve around. Some of us love to watch the tension between the characters, the build-up of the story, and the plot’s peak- where they finally realize it and give in to their feelings. Doesn’t it feel like a roller-coaster ride? Here are 5 of our favorite enemies-to-lovers movies with the best mutual chemistry, snarky comebacks, and most compelling love stories!

The Hating Game:
The freshest enemies-to-lovers book-to-film adaptation out there is The Hating Game. The chemistry between the two executive assistants to their merged companies’ CEOs is undeniable. However, their relationship takes a turn at some point. This movie is great to watch.

The Proposal:
This film is one of Ryan and Sandra’s best movies. We watch how Margaret convinces her employee, Andrew, to marry her to save her visa and stay in the States, even though he hates her. The fun begins when they travel to Alaska to meet his family and get married. The Proposal is definitely recommended!

Pride & Prejudice:
We can’t talk about enemies-to-lovers and not mention the classic Pride and Prejudice. Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Darcy have set the bar too high for other novels or adaptations! Both Bennet and Darcy deny their chemistry, attraction, and potential feelings for each other because of how much pride and prejudice they both hold.

You’ve Got Mail:
Another classic is You’ve Got Mail. The story revolves around how Kathleen might lose her small special bookshop when Joe opens a mega book emporium around the corner. They have a rightful feud going on between them in real life, but online, they don’t know that they’re each other’s best friends.

10 Things I Hate About You:
Heath’s performance and Julia Stiles’ poem are only two parts of what makes this movie iconic and timeless. Patrick is paid by Cameron to date Kat. She finally agrees to date Patrick, only to find out the truth. However, Patrick is head-over-heels in love with her and is set to win her back. Brb, we’re going to rewatch it for the millionth time!’
