The off-season shows have been on fire for a while now, and so has Riham Abdelghafour. Her latest series started airing a few days ago and is called El Asly. Right from the trailer, we thought this has to be on our watch list, and we’re now giving you 5 reasons why it should be on yours too!

Combines family, romance, and drama:
The more genres, the catchier a production is -with one condition being consistent and equally serving each genre. El Asly has so far given us a lot of drama about a family with rebellious, romantic, and wholesome vibes.

Has a nostalgic feel to it (80s, 90s, and early 2000s family dramas):
Like the good old days, watching El Asly felt like watching Lan A3eesh Fe Gelbab Aby, 3a2elet El Hag Metwally, and these kinds of family dramas. The 2023 production has the same charm, and while presenting new things is a must, it’s nice to have more shows that feel like this.

Stars a diverse cast:
El Asly’s cast has brought together many of our favorite stars, faces we grew up watching, and new and fresh faces, too. The casting is spot-on, and no character feels like they’re out of place. Maybe more shows should bring diverse casts together for more creativity and variety.

Features multiple catchy storylines:
With less than five episodes out, the series is fast-paced. Each episode features many incidents, making it an entertaining series. We also love following different characters with their storylines -which, by the way, are all captivating.

Riham Abdelghafour’s feisty character:
Like a joker, Riham Abdelghafour knows how to do every character just right. And don’t get us started on Fatma El Asly. She’s fearless, tough almost cruel, and unpredictable. We don’t even know if we like her or not, but we’re certainly invested and want to see what she has in store for us!

Have you watched El Asly? If yes, what do you think? Are you planning to watch it? Tell us in the comments!
