Ramadan 2022 marks Banque Misr’s fifth Ramadan campaign in the last 5 years. But this year they gave us a surprise by dropping the song “Ya Ma3afer – يا معافر” on the first day of Ramadan. It quickly became a fan favorite, marking the long-awaited comeback of Sherine Abdel Wahab and a change for Banque Misr.

The successful ad swiftly became the top-viewed video on both Facebook & YouTube since the 4th of Ramadan, and we can understand why. Banque Misr’s Ramadan ads have been trendsetters for years now, and “Ya Ma3afer – يا معافر” is following in the same footsteps by trending in 12 countries including Egypt, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Jordan, Lebanon, Libya, Tunisia, Morocco, Bahrain, Algeria and Qatar.

Banque Misr never miss; they always manage to give us a much needed encouraging message and song just at the right time. So, it’s no wonder that the ad became the first to hit 3 million views on Facebook this Ramadan, making Banque Misr the second leading brand on YouTube only on the day of its release.

More than 100 million views across social media platforms; with 47.5 million views on Facebook , 40 million views on YouTube, 2.3 million views on Instagram and 11.5 million views on TikTok. It does look like everyone was looking for their 2022 motivational anthem. The heartening message behind Banque Misr’s ad and Sherine Abdel Wahab’s sweet warm voice were exactly the right duo we needed to renew our faith and fuel our passion for the rest of the year.

The song “Ya Ma3afer – يا معافر”is Ramadan 2022’s reminder that we should keep moving forward no matter what the circumstances.

We loved to see the clear representation in the ad, conveying that its message is inclusive. It’s only sensible that the ad became a viral sensation and the #1 ad worldwide exactly on April 3rd. It also trended at #2 on YouTube and is still on the charts right to this very moment!

And as much as we enjoy the message and the visual ad, Sherine’s voice makes it hard not to put the song on repeat making “Ya Ma3afer – يا معافر” trend at number #20 on the top songs chart in Egypt.
