Four Days after its release, “Azmer Montasaf El 3omr” enters the top 3 trending series on Shahid, and that’s only fair. The series stars Karim Fahmi, Riham Abdelghafour, Rana Raeis, Omar El Saeed, Hend Abdelhalim, and many more stars. Everyone’s doing their job perfectly, and although the pace might be a little faster than expected, that seems to be fine with the audience. The plot is clear yet has many mysteries in store for us to unravel, and it gives away just the right amount of information. The best thing they do is leave us with cliffhangers, as well.

Four episodes in, and “Azmet Montasaf El 3omr” is already starting many conversations and creating a buzz on social media! Most of the feedback about the series is positive so far, and many are watching it for all the drama and complications that keep happening in it. Though when we skimmed through social media, we came across many posts that compared the show’s plot to that of the Turkish sensation “El 3esh2 El Mamno3.” To give you an insight into what happened, Omar, played by Karim Fahmy, confessed his love to his mother-in-law. Yes, this happened. While there has been some confusion about whether Fayrouz, played by Riham Abdelghafour, is Mariam’s, played by Rana Raeis, biological or stepmother, this still makes it wrong on so many levels.

Either way, their argument with the comparison was the similarity of the idea of a man loving someone he’s forbidden to love, like his uncle’s wife or his mother-in-law, and also the idea of the naive spoilt daughter who falls in love with the toxic man and weds him. There might be some thematic similarities between “Azmet Montasaf El 3omr” and “El 3esh2 El Mamno3” in betrayal, family issues, hidden secrets, and traumas.

However, we don’t see a resemblance between the two series at all. If anything, “Azmet Montasaf El 3omr” tackles even more forbidden love stories. The cast and the crew’s hard work is definitely paying off, with the series becoming one of the most talked about! As we prepare to see how Fayrouz will react to Omar’s confession next Thursday, we feel more twists coming our way!

What do you think; could “Azmet Montasaf El 3omr” be the Egyptian version of “El 3esh2 El Mamno3”?
