Egyptian sitcoms represent the golden era of TV, and we miss them all the time- they’re like our Roman empire. To think that they also aired during Ramadan makes you wish you could see more of them now. Without further ado, here are four Ramadan sitcoms we can’t get over!

Tamer W Shawqeya:

The sitcom that introduced us to many of our now-favorite stars! It followed the misadventures of a young couple from different social classes. Their marriage was a constant source of comedy, as they learned to navigate the challenges of cultural differences and family expectations. Man, we miss Tamer W Shawqeya’s early season so much!

Ragel W 6 Setat:

This isn’t Ashraf Abdel Baky’s first comedy hit, but it was definitely different! The hilarious sitcom followed the life of Adel, a man who lived with six women: his wife, daughter, sister, sister-in-law, mother, and mother-in-law. The sitcom shows Adel trying to keep his sanity amid all the chaos while working with the absolute icon, Ramez.

Haramt Ya Baba:

This was new to us when it dropped! Haramt Ya Baba told the story of a father raising four daughters, and all their wholesome moments or full shenanigans. The funniest moments were between their cousin Tamer and their dad, or between them and their cousin- truly hilarious!

El 3eyada:

The theme song for this sitcom is still carved in our minds, and some even sing the first line wrong but what matters is how ahead of its time and funny it was. This sitcom followed the lives of three young doctors and their nurse who shared a small apartment for their medical practice as they tried to balance their personal and professional lives.

These shows were a big part of our childhood, teenage, or adulthood, and we can still vividly remember the memories they gave us. Which one was your favorite, and what other sitcoms do you remember or miss?
