Fashion Week is a time to pay extreme attention, mainly because of the overflow of trends that walk down the runways. The trends to look out for come S/S ’15 all waltzed down runways during New York Fashion, from that of Donna Karan to Mara Hoffman.
This time around, hair and beauty trends scaled the spectrum, from soft and sensual, to hard and edgy.
Hair
Plaits
Braids were big at NYFW S/S ’15, which comes as no surprise, quite honestly. The plait trend has been on the rise for quite some time now, coming in with a bang at Fashion Week. Designers embraced braids with open arms, and sent models down many a runway donning perfectly executed braids. From structured, to loose and messy, braids were everywhere.
Messy Buns/Chignons
Another big trend at New York Fashion Week was having hair resting high up on the head. Hairstyles ranged from messy buns, to creatively adorned buns, to chignons. Either way, have your hair resting high on your head come S/S ’15.
Not Your Average Ponytail
A recurring hairstyle at New York Fashion Week was the ponytail. Not your average ponytail, mind you, it was all about the unconventional route. Textured ponytails frequented runways at NYFW S/S ’15, as well as those adorned by braids. Low ponytails also made an appearance during the famed week.
Beauty
Brows
Brows played a big part during NYFW, ranging from nice and groomed to edgy and ostentatious.
Face
Models were sent down the runway glowing, as it seems the trend this year is all about glowing skin. A little highlighter dabbed on the cheekbone will leave your face fabulously luminous.
Eyes
Soft & Sensual
Most designers opted for soft and sensual eyes, making it easier to focus on the garments themselves. Colours like lavender and pale gold were seen on most models during NYFW, making them the shades to look out for come S/S ’15.
Bold and Beautiful
Attendees were also treated to some fabulously bold eyes. Designers went from kohl-rimmed eyes to heavy and intense cat eyes, which seems to have been a recurring look. Another look was the colour rimmed waterline, which proved to be very powerful.
